Ponder and discuss as you may: Instructions for Life 1. Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk. 2. When you lose, don't lose the lesson. 3. Follow the three R's: - Respect for self, - Respect for others and - Responsibility for all your actions 4. Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck. 5. Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly. 6. Don't let a little dispute injure a great relationship. 7. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it. 8. Spend some time alone every day. 9. Open your arms to change, but don't let go of your values. 10. Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer. 11. Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you'll be able to enjoy it a second time. 12. A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life. 13. In disagreements with a loved one, deal only with the current situation. Don't bring up the past. 14. Share your knowledge. It is a way to achieve immortality. 15. Be gentle with the earth. 16. Once a year, go someplace you've never been before. 17. Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other. 18. Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it. 19. Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon. There are a few of these that I can testif... Yes, yEs, YES! Posted : 8 Dec, 2009 05:54 PM I know you all don't get to hear my opinion that often (like every Day!) so I'll comment. 7) When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it. If it wasn't for mistakes, I'd be a simpleton. The very act of correcting my misrtakes imbedded in me the correct way and doing it as soon as possible lessened the damage. Also I've learned to admit when I am wrong; it makes those few times when I'm right even more pronounced. 8) Spend some time alone every day. You know that the one person you can be assured of spending the rest of your life with is You! So as soon as you start loving yourself and getting along with yourself the better. Spending time alone recharging helps. Also, the only other person you are guaranteed will be with you your whole life is Jesus. Alone just listening to Him is very nice too. 11) Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you'll be able to enjoy it a second time. Never -- Ever too late for this one! 18) Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it. It is so true! You tend to place a lesser value on that which comes easily, but that which came at a high cost of effort and time and pain -- is valued more and will be cherished and guarded and maintained. Jesus never said it would be easy. Even He fell several times. But He did say it would be Worth it. 19) Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon.
