Not sure if this is the right topic of the forum to post in, but it's my best guess.

I was wondering, with the way things have been going in the Western world, if any of you have ever been concerned with transgenderism in dating.

There was a time when you didn't have to think about STDs/STIs, but now they are so prevalent that it has to be asked about at some point. Nowadays, I wonder if asking "Were you born a man (or woman)?" will become as typical a question as asking about STDs.

I've read stories about a person getting into a relationship with someone only to find out much later that the person was born the opposite gender. That seems a serious trust issue.

never eeeeeever hide something like "we used to have the same genitalia" from someone.... just do NOT do it.

Sex correctional surgery is for some simply taboo to even think about. For myself only cases of birth where the genes were a bit mixed up are legitimate circumstances for such a thing but simply deciding one day that you are a man trapped in a woman's body is simply being delusional. If you have to keep taking hormones to stay a woman.... you are probably really a man.

Really?

Why would it concern a child of God?

Because there are transgender people who claim to be Christians.

^ There are many gays who claim to be Christians and that God made them that way. Wouldn't be surprised if there were trans who had similar reasoning

Rhet404,

I feel that your concern is a legitimate one for there are these transgendered people out there who are so convincing that those around them are totally fooled. Some may say that they have never met any of these transgenders professing to be Christians, but the question really is... how do you know if you really met one or not? Given that there are those out there that are easy to spot by their mannerism like the girl impostor who walks in an exaggerated swaying motion and flail their arms and fanning themselves after a scary encounter. There's even guy impostors with facial hair, six pack abs, huge arms and chests with a walk that trembles the ground.

A couple of some convincing male to female transgendered people who made the media are Tim Petras who goes by Kim of Germany, and Nuntrita Khampriranon who goes by Bell Nuntrita of Thailand. No, they don't profess to be Christians but profess their true identities, but they are only two of multitudes of them out there. So convincing are these two that without their openness of who they really are, they could've fooled the masses. So in reality, how many of them can you spot in churches today if you really can't tell unless they tell you the truth of themselves?

You are right in your choice of word that they may claim to be Christians for truthfully, they can't be both according to scriptures.

Now, compound this issue with online dating makes this a huger mess.

Very recently, a guy messaged me telling me that a person that I responded to in a post is not what they say that they are. He never did give me any concrete evidences of his findings claiming that any child could see it. So I went to the profile of the person in question and could not find anything suspicious. Now either I am totally blind, which I don't think I am, or this guy's accusation is false and is being very offensive to the accused. I was also offended by his belittling me of my discernment. But what really is the truth?

That brings out new questions... do you question someone's gender even if you can't tell, and how do you go about that without offending someone who really is what they are?

Closing true story... I have a pure white fluffy cat with a fluffy tail to match. Many people comment of how pretty she is. I tell them that his name is Hunter for despite being white and highly noticeable, he still catches birds like other stealthy cats.

I think the numbers are so low that it's unlikely (though not impossible) that most people will experience it. It does kind of bring to mind the potter and the clay though, so I'm not sure how seriously I could take the faith of somebody who believes God got it wrong when he made them...

That's an idea, but they could show you fake pics. Also, some of them may have pics of themselves in their youth already "transformed".

Hehe... maybe I'll go and do video interviews of people and ask them of their gender at birth to see their reactions and feelings towards such questions. Hope that I don't get punched or yelled at if I offend anyone. Who knows... I may actually meet a bonafide genderbender.

Let's see... first, a safe interview...

"Uh... Mom?..."
