The verse is Ephesians 5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

I am going to get to the point, as Christians GOD wants us to cover the world with HIS LOVE (to be a Christian means to be CHRIST-like, and the bible tells us that GOD is LOVE...therefore we understand that CHRIST came to show us about LOVE...that is why Christianity is to show the LOVE of GOD to the world, and without CHRIST the world chooses to remain in an anti-love state)

Since the world is not living according to the principals that CHRIST taught us, the world rejects and stands in opposition to the LOVE that Christians try to show. The bible calls this anti-love "evil" and it calls the days that we live in evil. (So we get a picture of the Christians being like solders that are walking through a kingdom that is called evil (or anti-love).

CHRIST has called us to be like submarines that dive deep into the ocean. The deeper down you travel, the stronger the submarine has to be, because if the submarine is not strong it will be crushed by all of the water pressure.

CHRIST not only wants us to resist the pressure from a world that is filled with evil, but HE also wants us to redeem the time (which means to purchase back) The world that we live in is not supposed to be evil, it is not supposed to be filled with anti-love. But the hellish forces have been at work, and the world that we walk through is not the kingdom that we belong to! As Christians GOD has called us to walk on ground that is part of the evil kingdom. We are not only supposed to resist (like water rolls off a ducks back) but we are also called to redeem the times. So we are supposed to buy back (or turn the tide) Its like the ph level of your blood, the more alkaline your body is then the more difficult it is for acidic things to function in that environment. I need to live my life in such a way that evil gets mad at me because I am helping to spread Love.

The purpose of any of us finding a mate, is that he or she will help us do what GOD wants us to do. (Some of you are figuring out why a Christian and a non-Christian have no business getting married...that is being unequally yoked) We need to stop thinking that the point of marriage is to make me happy. As a Christian its not about me and my life goals, I have surrendered my will and desires to GOD. So everything about my life needs to be there for one reason... and that reason needs to be so that everyone possible looks at CHRIST!

Amen brother! Ill expound on the last paragraph: Both the man and the woman are not only to be "in Christ" but they should wisely discern if they are equally yoked within the faith! IMHO

I say this is especially true for a woman seeking a man. The man has been called to be the spiritual leader of the household therefore he should be able to do so by having greater knowledge of Gods word. A woman should look for a man who is more learned than she is. IMHO

Blessings...

I truly agree with that. Since the man is the head, he must set the pace for the woman.

Travis,

Have you read The Sacred Search by Gary Thomas? I'm reading it now and finding it very helpful for keeping my focus where it should be, seeking God and His righteousness. It has some really practical tips, too, on positives to look for as well as some red flags. Good stuff!
