Avoiding BurnoutPosted : 6 Jun, 2014 01:41 PMSomething I'm starting to realize after my latest, greatest paralyzing meltdown/burnout is that I think it's also extremely important to realize that you need to have something in place as an outlet or grounding that you can go to to take out your frustrations in a healthy way. Sitting on the couch playing video games, surfing the internet, or watching Netflix or going out to get a drink is not an outlet. It has to be something you actually go out and expend physical energy doing and enjoying the physiological process of doing like riding a bike, swimming, or going kayaking, or hiking. Something that you just go out and spend time doing and enjoying without any real goal to accomplish or achieve beyond that. |

Avoiding BurnoutPosted : 6 Jun, 2014 02:28 PMUmmmmmmm......well when I take a long walk after some trying circumstance or situation, in my opinion, has been the best physical, psychological and most importantly, spiritual remedy that has ever worked! The whole "burnout" syndrome can have far reaching negative ramifications, if not dealt with directly and promptly! And of course allowing The Lord to renew our strength daily, certainly will always be the best way to turn a burnout to a "fill me up Lord". Praise God! |

Avoiding BurnoutPosted : 11 Jun, 2014 12:24 AMSo I've been reading article after article on the topic of play and how it can be therapeutic and let it suffice to say, I am blown away at how beneficial taking time to do that is. If you struggle with burnout, depression, anxiety, or anything I strongly recommend looking into that and trying it out. |
