Since it was her lifestyle throwing herself around...

Taking from their dialogue:

Do you somehow think the Samaritan woman was attracted to Jesus but maybe playing hard to get especially since there were boundries between Jews' and Samaritans?

My question is inspired by how Jesus broke the ice, and took it even further when rejected. He pesisted and offered something better, something that will spare her the trip of coming to the well daily to draw water and have to face her numerous lady enemies that she took husbands from including the current one whose husband she's currently with.

From 'Jew to Sir'.... Wow!!

Jesus must have mustered He's game, "9 The Samaritan woman said to Him, 'How is it that You, being a Jew, ask for a drink from me." That was rejection and a reminder of the thin line between these two nations.

Jesus doesn't mind that (a secure man that Michael always speaks about, not reacting to rejection but rather turns the tables around, He makes her seek after Him instead... Think that

was romantic not to mention being wise)

"10 If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water."

Since it was more of her lifestyle to thaw herself around so she gets a man,

Do you think that was a case with Jesus?

Was she maybe hoping to be chased after by Jesus pleading for relationship?

Or maybe it was a plain meant rejection, she wanted nothing to do with Him?

What is your thought on this falks, without deviating from their conversation?

NB... Do keep in mind that Jesus was really HOT hey, and well dressed too. John 19:24 "They divided My garment among them, And for My clothing they cast lots" So it was a very fine brother sitting by the well awaiting her, hense sent His disciples away to buy food so they don't interupt and ruin this appointment for Him.

Sisygirl,

I never thought about what the woman's intent was. I think she was shocked that a Jewish man would even speak to her, let alone ask her for water.

For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. - Isaiah 53:2

And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another. - 1 Corinthians 4:6

Jesus was not hot.

The Jews and Samaritans were enemies, they didn't like one another, which is why the story of the good Samaritan is so touching, that a Samaritan would have more love for a Jewish man than that's man's own people.

Subject:Re: Can I ask darling...?

Message:So Jesus was probably an averaging looking man. He was happy but always compassionate. He had the weight of the world on His shoulders.

I think when you referred to Him as 'hot' some think you were insulting Him. In the US some try to name Jesus many things that He was not...He wasn't into romantic love as you indicate. He wasn't homosexual, He wasn't a drunk, or riotous. So some people are very touchy about anything that may be insulting. I don't think you meant anything bad about your reference.

In this world's terms He was poor, no home, nothing but what He had. There's references to Him having no home...the foxes have dens, but the Son of God has no place to lay His head (I don't remember the reference but will look up later).

When He fed the 5000+, He performed a miracle...in fact He miraculously fed 2 groups of 5000.

His family had no real status...references to Him being the carpenter's son...not a trade requiring education but He amazed them when He spoke in the Temple at age 12.

Yes, He had a charm about Him but people were drawn to Him by curiosity more than His looks...who was this man who could make the lame walk, calm the sea, feed 5000, give the blind sight, etc?

Literally, everywhere He went the people of the city would come out to see Him...cities in those days basically had one main street and it was easy for people to see who was passing through. Think about when a dignitary like a President comes through...people flock to see him/her just because they're famous.

Keep asking and seeking.

Love ya,

Thank you Teach for writing that to me. The intention was surely not to insult my LORD, I love Him too much to do that.

Again the intention dear sis is surely not to post public our private chatts, I'm only doing this for clarity after reading what you've sent. I then realized that I could have offended many and most problaby caused confusion of some kind.

My problem is reading the bible with an open imagenating mind, were in this case... I've put myself through my mind in the Samaritan woman's shoes. Keeping in mind that Jesus wasn't after romance. Though the woman is only familiar to that kind of love hense taking other weman's husbands.

Thank you so much Teach!!

And I love you dear

While I can't speak for everyone, you haven't offended me.

The intention of your heart is made clear, if the Lord holds nothing against you then who would I be to find more offense in you than He?

Teach

"In this world's terms He was poor, NO HOME.... The foxes have dens, but the son of God has no place to lay His head"

I'm glad you made mantion of that on your reply, first time seeing that passage I assumed that He meant a human heart as a home for Him to rest He's spirit.

Little did I know that He actually meant a physical home for Himself.

I associated that verse with rejection that He was experiencing daily as He was opposed in everything He did.

You're very helpful dear in opening my mind

I appreciate that in you!!

Stay blessed darling sis

Again Teach this is one of the passages that I wish it brief'ed us of the Samaritan woman's past. So we can understand what caused her to behave like she did, i've always been wondering of her past and upbringing.
