Hypothetically, have you ever found disappointment when meeting someone in person?

Like I know you can put photos on here but have you been disappointed in how they look in person? Have you feared disappointing them even though you love their personality you still hope for that tiny bit of attraction? I'm curious.

Not really, I guess it is according to our expectations.

Sometimes, yes, but that's because I'd built up unrealistic expectations in my mind. Of course, I'm no oil painting myself, and physical beauty deteriorates with age usually anyway so personality is still the biggest factor - I'd just be lying if I said the appearances were always as good as or better than I hoped..

I've met three online matches in person. The first guy was pretty homely in the pictures he posted online, so I wasn't expecting much when we met in person. He looked better in person than he did in his pictures, though, so I wasn't disappointed. His personality probably contributed to the way I saw him, too! He wasn't what most people would call "good looking."

The second guy looked pretty average in his online pictures. Not bad looking, but not drop-dead gorgeous either. In person, though, he was actually really handsome! He had an amazing smile.

The third guy looked exactly like I expected him to. Of course, it could have had something to do with the fact that even though we connected online, we'd met each other several times as young teenagers because we had a lot of mutual friends.

That is inevitable that you or he is disappointed after meeting up. Sometimes online life is so different from the daily life a person lives. But you never know until you meet them in real person.

Yes it is scary to either get disappointed or be a disappointment, but it makes a difference if the person is kind and softly in a way tells you he is only interested to be friends. And you should be able to feel it anyway. Same goes for you.

It will still hurt if you like him yet he is not attracted to you, but it is better to know early and hurt 'a bit' rather than getting someone who lead you on just because they know you like them.

God will show you the way! :) So don't be afraid! Although there will be times when we get hurt, we will rise again because God will empower us!

God bless you.
