Ready to give up

There are so many beautiful women on this site but all seem so far, far away from me...

it's what wrecked my last relationship

distance is no problem for me but obviously it is for some,

don't get me wrong I would prefer a girl down the road I could see every day

I am willing to commute a few hours to see the one i love its worth the effort in my opinion.

god bless all of you...

A lot of people come to online dating and forget it's just another way of meeting people; heck, not even the best by a long shot! This is a global website so the chance of meeting someone just down the road is very small, which is why a lot of us use it mainly for the forums.

Bottom line: don't forget to keep trying the conventional methods for dating as that's more likely where you'll be successful.

I think the best thing to do is to become active in a congregation nearby. There are also dedicated singles groups that some churches have for people like us too.

But the most effective thing you can possible do is pray about it. God will reveal His will for you if you keep after Him, and He will provide for you in that department if you yield that desire to Him.

Distance, in my humble opinion, is a challenge on many levels however, it is not something that can't be overcome if both people have given of themselves wholly and completely. Is is easy, no. Does it present an additional set of challenges not dealt with in local dating? Certainly. But again, if both have devoted themselves to the nurturing and care of one another's heart, then distance is like anything else; what you choose to make of it.

Finally, ""I am willing to commute a few hours to see the one i love its worth the effort in my opinion." is that a limitation or a preference? And what if she is more than a "few hours commute"? I am not saying that you are wrong in any way(!!!), I am merely suggesting that as the world has gotten smaller, perhaps we can adjust our expectations as the heart truly does not recognize distance and time

Just a thought.

God's best to you!

The amazing thing is that when we feel that we are giving up...God has not given up. I have felt like that myself quite often. But then I remember He who holds the universe in His hands, also holds me and knows me. Of course the distance thing is a worry. Going the extra mile will be a bridge God Himself will build and allow one to cross if He has ordained that one's special someone is indeed across the bridge...even 2 to hundreds of miles in-between.

Be blessed
