If marriage is a Godly desire, won't God grant it?Posted : 4 Nov, 2011 03:04 PMI don't even really know what point the blogger was trying to make with that. Will God grant it? Only He knows. Which is just fine with me because then I would only superficially trust and obey Him in order to get what I want rather than being genuine and unconditional. |

If marriage is a Godly desire, won't God grant it?Posted : 4 Nov, 2011 07:22 PMI think the verse means that the more one focuses on God the less one relies on himself to achieve things. The focus is on other people, lost souls and providing for others. If we look at the life of Christ, He was not looking at what he could get, but what he could do for others. It seems that if someone is not being selfish and looking out for number one, they are being conformed to the image of Christ. I think one gets to the point of being content in life, satisfied in God's provision. I believe the desire of marriage comes from God and when one reaches the contentment stage with God, a mate is provided. |

If marriage is a Godly desire, won't God grant it?Posted : 6 Nov, 2011 01:31 PMA Godly desire is to see His will done - whatever that may be! Even Jesus had this battle in the garden the night he was betrayed. He wasn't desiring anything wrong (to avoid what was going to happen), yet even though He *could* have done something about it, He surrended Himself to the will of the Father. Now that's what get's me: with just a word His attackers would have fallen stone dead, yet even with that power He still chose the cross... |

If marriage is a Godly desire, won't God grant it?Posted : 27 Nov, 2011 12:00 PMMarriage isn't guaranteed. That's like saying "If God wanted me to have money, wouldn't he just drop it in my lap?" God put Adam in the Garden to WORK the Garden (Genesis 2:15). While I'm not trying to put an emphasis on works, life has always been intended by God to be a cooperative effort- us working with God. |

If marriage is a Godly desire, won't God grant it?Posted : 26 Jan, 2012 05:24 PMWell our desire should be for His will...so if it's His will to give you a wife, He'll grant it. |
