Posted : 15 Oct, 2011 04:43 AM Well, before I say it, I'll give an example, I've had some steady relationships in the past, and whenever the man would pull me onto his lap I'd suddenly feel really fat. I laugh about this as I type it, as one, it sounds ridiculous and two, I don't want to offend anyone who is super conservative. I personally believe in cuddling, with your partner, but in the past, whenever he would pull me onto his lap, I suddenly would feel super fat. Is this a phobia, an irrational fear, and anxiety? Is it crazy or just natural? I'm all ears. :angel: Post Reply

Posted : 16 Oct, 2011 11:56 AM There's nothing "wrong" or neccessarily sexual about sitting on someone's lap - I'd be in real trouble when my kids sit on mine if so! To be honest, I'm getting sick of the sexualisation (and the following demonisation) of everything, that we Christians in particular, seem to be good at. Yes we're to be as wise as serpents, but we're also called to be as innocent as doves and that means not reading into things that which may not be there, because that's how we ostracise people, with rumours and suspicion. The average adult in Britain is statistically 75Kg and elevators and suchlike are designed based on that figure. 70Kg might be too high if you're relatively short, but equally, it could be just fine. I'm over 100 and not quite six foot, but although I obviously look overweight, I don't look ridiculous with it either. Reminds me, I really must post a more recent photo - and you should too because regardless how self-conscious you are, you'll appear in many times more search results and have a much greater chance that someone will see your photo then read your profile and decide you could be the one for them!
