"and He shall NOT give you the desires of a your CARNAL heart"..

Many on here are grabbing and flipping scriptures around as though they were intended to be used to justify their carnality, and not for the sanctified purpose of bringing about a renewal in the inner man, and thus a renewed heart, focused solely upon serving the Lord, and not the flesh and the world, any longer.
Some in modern Christianity, which is but a conglomaration of premodern to postmodern socioeconomic religio-philosophical systems of governance, are teaching that the text "Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart", means that "God wants you to have simply whatever you want".
Some are actually advocating that man has evolded into God himself, through the teachings of "the secret", which says that you are to say "I am that, I am", and thus you are free to seek after that which you claim you are with reckless abandon. This seems to be clearly demonstrated through the philosophies which are being touted which support carnality and fleshly pleasures.
This passage of scripture is talking about "the desires of the Lord" which are imputed into the heart of one of His children as the child matures, enabling the child to be a partaker of the Divine nature. This is classically demonstrated through Peter, and the sheep who went from running and scattering at the thought of Jesus' impending death, to one where Peter embraced the will of God which was placed within a renewed heart and died the very same death, but upsidedown; with the remainder all suffering martyrdom as well, because they refused to be conformed to this world, Caesar, and these warped philosophies on life, aka religions.
The Word of God is not talking about your lusting on one another, and trying to name it and claim it..
The prosperity [of the spirit man] as is spoken of in the scripture, I know is not popular with the false Christianity gang with their flesh hanging out, earrings, tattoes, piercings, and materialism at every corner, and oh, let's not forget "having FUN", and "being HOT".
False Christianity is easy to detect, they want everything associated with the world; their's is a fleshly gospel. Satan's seed has through the centuries taken the scripture and reshaped it through obfuscation and chicanery to mean a new thing today, one which is warped and wicked. This is why we now have multitudes of denominations with 11 primary versions of the Bible, and dozens more which are not popularly received. The scripture is almost indistinguishable from the original Greek text which were first written.
There is one sure-fire way to determine if you are believing in the real gospel..
Is it popular, carnal, always presented as a gospel of having fun, partying, riding motorcycles, materialism, and selfishness; yes, it has to be one where you can have, as was presented to me here, everything you want, after all it does say, "He will grant you the desires of your heart", doesn't it? Uh, do you think that maybe He was referring to "a RENEWED HEART"..?
a wise man
