Why are we coming here and places like this? Is there a severe lack of fellowship at our local church? Is it just that hard to meet fellow believers who share our interests? I have my reasons but I'm curious to hear yours. Post Reply

My own reasons for being here are as follows: 1) The church I used to attend had exactly 1 single/unmarried person anywhere near my age...ME. That didn't exactly help out my dating life. That is why I initially joined this site. 2) I'm naturally a little bit shy, and being on a dating site is one way that I'm trying to overcome that shyness. I figure if I can talk to a guy easily online, I should be able to talk to a guy easily in person. 3) The few single, Christian guys near my age that I come in contact with usually just ignore me. They don't pretend I don't exist...they talk to me, include me in group activities, etc., but they ignore the fact that I'm a single girl who is very date-able. 4) I joined this site in hopes of meeting someone to date and eventually marry. After nearly 2 years on here, that hasn't happened. While I'm not totally giving up hope on that, my focus has shifted a bit. Now I'm just here to enjoy the forums...if a great guy comes along, fabulous! If not, oh well. Post Reply

I've been to a lot of churches growing up, even graduated from a Christian school but the thought of dating in any capacity was foreign to me until around the time I hit 30 and realized I'd never been on a date, had a girlfriend or anything. I've spent my adult life ignored completely by the opposite sex and yet I keep hearing things like "Oh, I'm sure there's someone for you." and "You know we're just friends, right?" Maybe being here is an act of desperation on my part, I'm really not sure. Thank you for responding though. Post Reply

Additionally though I find myself observing that there is a certain safety net to meeting people on a site. There are things you can know and find out about people from there profiles, blogs, and even chats almost instantly. Where as finding out about someone in person is a little more time consuming. Not to mention the awkwardness of trying to determine if someone you have just met is single, interested, or even christian sometimes. Here is a kind of treasure trove of people who share the same world view and values at their core, sometimes with differing opinions but still common ground. Post Reply

Posted : 4 Jun, 2011 02:52 PM The church I attend is wonderful and powerful, but there are not a lot of single men that are my age and those that are are already in a relationship. I attend events and I am shy to start conversations with someone I dont know (male or female). It amazes me that on this site....as on others I have looked at and tried trial versions of, there are scammers and those that say they are christian still want to jump into bed right away (not happening) or know little about the Bible or do not attend church and feel it is a waste of time to attend (those are the ones that really get me as to why they are here). I joined the site to possibly meet someone to marry, but as time has gone by I revert back to one of my fav sayings.....the more guys I meet, the more I like my dogs!! I strongly believe that when the time is right and God knows when that time is....I will meet that certain person and it will be a wonderful relationship. Post Reply

I'm the youngest by at least 11yrs, and single females start at about age 55 plus. This site is a way of broadening my horizons, but obviously there's something so horrible about me that few people want to talk and nobody has yet ever desired to meet me. Not that I care particularly - I'm too busy living life to worry about the holes in it! Post Reply

Posted : 8 Jun, 2011 03:14 AM most of the reasons,yes,i come from a small town where young people have relocated and gone to big towns for jobs and studies,hence when i came back home and got a job just near home,i found out,all my friends had moved out and most are now married,hence got no one to hang out with ,i have to go all the way to town to get them and the ones married,its actually difficult,hence i decided to join this as i would love to chat. second the young guys here are not the datable type ,hahhah.their behaviours are sooo worldly. I guess the first reason is that it seems that everybody my age is already married, and there isn't anyone in my congregation that is my age, and the ladies I tend to meet don't have a heart for the Lord. Another reason is reason is why not! Myself. i admire a great many things about American culture and there tends to be alot of them on here. I will be finished studies within a month and planning travelling in the next few years so you never know... Also though I actualy met someone online here about 2 years ago now and was planning to move to America, but then all of a sudden she just cut ties; and occasionally my facebook page still gets hacked from her parents hometown (where she was when she blinkd out), I don't know why it happened thta why but hey God has a plan and a purpose for my life!
