I DATED THIS MAN FOR A WHILE AND IT WAS THE BEST RELATIONSHIP I'D EVER HAD.. I DECIDED TO LOOK PAST THE FACT THAT HE WAS A MUSLIM.. NOT JUST ANY MUSLIM BUT A PAKISTANIAN MUSLIM..HE WAS 38 AND HIS MOTHER DECIDED IT WAS TIME FOR HIM TO MARRY.. A NICE MUSLIM GIRL(A MAIL ORDER BRIDE BASICALLY) WE NEVER REALLY DISCUSSED IT WE NEVER REALLY BROKE UP.. BUT WE DRIFTED WHICH PROVED THERE WAS NO REALL SUBSTANCE THERE TO BEGIN WITH AND HOW COULD THERE BE WE VEIWED CHRIST AS TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE.. IT TAUGHT ME A LESSON (1) DOING YOUR WILL AND NOT GODS MEANS YOU WILL SURELY FAIL(2) IF YOU HAVE TO MAKE EXCUSSES IT'S DOOMED (3) BEING UN EQUALLY YOKED IS NOT LIVING IN ACCORDANCE TO GOD.

Great lesson learned! And while you are pondering this in retrospect, it would probably be a good idea to reconsider what made the relationship "the best I've ever had". It could not be:

1. The great fellowship in the Lord.

2. He encouraged you to be more like Christ.

3. The worship and prayer together.

4. The unity in mind and focus on being one with Christ.

5. His wonderful example of Christ's love toward you.

In other words, as the Bible says, "What does light have in common with darkness?" All the things that should be what make us the most happy in a relationship, NONE of them can be had with ANY unbeliever! Not one of them! Not any of the most important things. Now, some things that make us feel good can be there--companionship, physical closeness, fun, having a lot in common, etc. But if we are seeking God first, all of these things are very, very minor compared to the things of above, the things that have to do with Christ. So if we change our focus and our life to seeking God first, we will never again be attracted to this kind of person, because we will truly see that they have nothing of depth in value to offer us.

David
