Shamah,

Thanks for your response. I agree with all the points you made. It's all good advice. Most of the time, that is exactly what I would do as well.

However, in this particular case, with this particular OP, I decided to respond. I got tired of reading comments like: men are not heads, men can't keep their homes together so they must not be Christian, men can't handle a Proverbs 31 woman, men are shallow they only care about the photos and don't read the profile, etc.

And now look at the OP's response to my example for you. She writes, "shamah, anyone that makes a statement like that about a black women, is not Godly. Godly people do not make statements like that." You know what, I agree with the OP about that.

Yet that same OP says "men are not heads (christlike), some think they are

I rest my case.

I think the intent of this thread was to discuss what it means to be the head of a marriage...

I can definitely say it does not mean that the man or woman knows everything or that the woman is a slave to the man ( hence the man is not a taskmaster).

Good leaders know how to listen to those they are responsible for and treat them with the same respect they expect, not demand, in return.

Marriage is a team...and everyone has strengths (talents) that should be appropriately used.

The husband is charged to 'break a tie'...make an ultimate decision if there is not agreement.

The great marriages I observe are where the husband and wife are working to outdo the other in kindness and respect. They keep Christ in the center and follow all the verses about friendships and relationships.

I pray that God brings such a man I into the women's lives on this site...and that we women can live up to God's standards.

TnB,

You missed my point and the word ( Can ) in my statements.

I also learned that when people react to what I have to say with such great fervency, I know I have hit a nerve with them.

Thats what I pray for. Thankyou God.......

Humbily,

Michael

Michael, I'm just used to our Saviour using conviction instead of condemnation. You are delivering accusation instead of challenge. Sooo not the same thing, brother!

And you are not recognizing the difference, which concerns me that your 'gift' is not being used for Christ's sake, but for your own.

A 'teacher' who cannot reach his 'pupils' is speaking just to hear the wonder of his own sage advice. If you sit above the class you will not reach them, you only glorify yourself as if God meant to exalt you instead of humble you. If you sit in the seat with your pupils, then all will learn from The Great Teacher.

1Cor9

21 To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from Gods law but am under Christs law), so as to win those not having the law. 22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. 23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.

I want you to succeed with the gift God has given you. Your message is not to the unsaved, but to your borhters and sisters. But if you think that hitting 'any' nerve is success, you will do more tearing down than building up of the kingdom.

With prayerful affection,

your sis

Nadie
