So after a little while we admired what appeared to be good character traits in each other. Only to get to the point to when I visited him he gave me his room and in the middle of the night came in and asked to stay in there. After a sleepless night of staying way on the side of the bed I had he woke up and started showing me Leviticus and stating how sex out of wedlock is not fornication and was quoting the scriptures to back his point of view up????? Unbelievable who does that!!!! So that was his purpose to have sex not to get to know someone. That is the reason why I am soooo cautious and will continue to be. He was supposed to be a man of God. I am losing confidence in people. No one is chalking up to be what they say. I find people who are just looking for sex and that is out of the question. If that is the case they can save a lot of time I tell them that upfront so why do they continue? It is sad. That is why I have a serious friend rule. If you can't be my friend you can be nothing else. I keep getting these guys that want to rush everything. I am going to make that apparent upfront as well. Post Reply

Being a female, I do understand. Been there, done that but I've learned to go to God and ask Him about the individual. You'll have far less incidents that way. Post Reply

Please be more careful next time. If this dude hadn't been a christian man, he might have forced himself on you. And this scenerio could have turned out very differently. Thank the Lord that the dude showed his true colors. But seriously I think he did it in a half respective way. He may really think in his brain that, that is true. Some people are so into instant gratification or whatever. That they bend truth or make lies up so that it is alright to them. Me personally would tell the guy Kudos for acting like a douche. Make him feel bad, and maybe he will realize that he was wrong, and you won't put up with it. And he will realize he lost out on a beautiful awesome woman. Hmm so was he someone you met online, that lived far away? I think if I were to visit a guy that lived far away. I would make him set me up with a place to stay there. Maybe with a women from his church. Cause letting a guy have that much access to you is foolish, Yes these men are christians. But everyone sins. Everyone makes dumb mistakes sometimes. No matter how Christian / chivalrous / spiritual someone is, you're playing with fire sleeping over at the home of, what I presume is, a relative stranger. Fine if he wants to read from the bible to progress his argument, but a coffee shop might be a better setting than a shared bed. Very good advice, which I need to remember in future, from a previous poster about maybe next time staying with a woman from the guy's local church to avoid temptation / confusion and promote transparency and accountability too. It's worth being upfront with a guy, verbally, about no sex outside marriage. God bless you HC Post Reply

It would have been helpful to tell that man he could not stay in that room, if he would have persisted then he would have had to take me home.
