bcpianogal View Profile History	Valentines Day Posted : 10 Feb, 2010 07:31 PM What are your opinions of Valentines Day? Do you think it is sweet, corny, sad, lonely, upsetting, disappointing, etc.? Do you have any favorite memories of past Valentines Days? I think that Valentines Day is a sweet tradition, but too much emphasis is put on giving gifts and not enough emphasis is put on caring for the special people in your life. In recent years, I have actually grown sadly cynical of Valentines Day. That probably has something to do with the fact that I'm still single when I don't want to be...so I just avoid the red and pink decorations in the stores. My favorite Valentines memory is from when I was about 9 or 10. My dad always got each of "his girls" something small, like a little box of candy. That year, though, he really splurged and got us all a BIG box of candy! It was fancy, heart-shaped, had a fake rose on top, and it was SO pretty! But it was totally the thought that mattered. He wanted to show us how big his love was, so he bought us a big box of candy. We only had a couple more Valentines Days with him after that...I really treasure every memory of him! OK, your turn!
