Why is it so hard to find someone?

Since I'm doing something new and joining a dating site I thought I'd just go all the way and write something too.

This isn't a rhetorical question...I really would like someone to answer it for me.

I finding it VERY difficult to find a nice christian man. Yes, I go to church. The single guys in my church are either too old or too young. The guys my age...too married. So where does a girl go to find a guy?

I tried bars when I was young...I'm getting divorced now, so you can see how well that went. I'm a single mom of 3 kids, so I don't have extra money to join the big online sites that let you browse, but not talk to anyone unless you pay to upgrade. I tried a big free site, but it's not easy to find a christian guy on there. The ones that list themselves as christian, don't seem to be. From my experience...if someone isn't a christian when you start dating, they either will lie about it to keep you, or you'll accept it as a minor thing and eventually realize it really is important. It's not just about attending church. Being a christian influences decisions you make and how you love each other.

So this is the only site I've found that is actually free to communicate with other people (I think...I haven't had a conversation with anyone, so I could be wrong)

To piggy back on Crays post,

I had the same thing happen to me with missplacing my key. It wasnt until I stoped and prayed and humbled my self before God that i found the key.

Dont you know the key was right in a visable place I looked. But my desire to find the key blinded my eyes from seeing it.

The same goes for my finding my wife. I am engeged today and planning on getting married soon. It wasnt until all of my desire for marriage were completly surendered to God that I found my wife.

Its about not just saying I trust God but really trusting God. This takes time.

But now that i found her we are still waiting to be together. We are waiting for Gods timing to finish bringing us together.

We are one in every sense but the physical and we have unity we never experienced with another human. But she is in another country and I am a poor man these days.

By faith we believe together and wait together Gods supply for us. Life is full of waiting dont be surprised that even after finding your mate you have more waiting to do.

In service to Christs body,

Michael

Wow, you have gotten some great advice here! I would just like to add: for both men and women...maybe the key is to look for good Christian friends rather than having a soulmate as your primary objective.

I have been burned and hurt many times in my life, and I now realize that every time was my fault for not putting on the gospel armor and getting to know the person well enough before jumping into a relationship. I think this may be one of those *missing keys* when it comes to finding "the one". Try to find a good friend, when you have enough good friends around, most likely one will stand out, and will certainly have a better chance of being from God, versus just looking at every person as a possible mate.
