I have had this experience with another Christian dating site as well, and it always goes the same way. I try to take girls' advice to "take the first step" by sending them a message. Then I wait, anywhere from several days to a month, in which no reply is ever sent. So I try again, just to be sure they are actually even on the site anymore. Still nothing. To make matters worse, on both sites you can actually know when your messages are read. And mine have been. And ignored. Am I alone here? Does anyone else ever have this problem, and are a lot of women out there as uncaring as I am finding? Please help!! Thanks and God bless! Post Reply

I've tried doing that, but I also don't want to barrage a girl with questions. I try to find a balance between asking too much and just simply sending one of those "Hey you're cute" messages. In fact, I found someone on here who shares just about every single interest of mine, almost to absurdity (sorry if you're reading this, but don't worry, I won't mention names or anything) and she still has yet to reply. pjh53, yeah but I have yet to even get to THAT point, which is what frustrates me. I have yet for anyone to message me or reply to one of mine asking anything, but I am open to whatever. If anyone wants to know something, they are free to ask :). Post Reply

Posted : 19 Feb, 2012 01:49 PM I'm not sure if it happens on CDFF (I certainly hope not), but it's well known that many dating sites add 'ghost' profiles to make it seem like they've got a lot of members. I mean, would you pick a site with 32 members or one with 3,200? Also, not everyone who puts up a profile is interested in dating: they may just want people hitting on them to make themselves feel good - online flirting basically, with nothing actually offered. Short answer is, certainly as seems to be the case for us guys, 10-15% response rate is the best you can expect unless your profile really does stand out. I hear the women have similar problems, though probably not as low a percentage? Post Reply

I want to receive a response, even if it's not the response I want. Therefore, I respond to all messages as, to me, this is the only Christian thing to do. Others standards are perhaps not as high. I find it rude that people don't reply on a Christian site as we are all supposed to treat each other as God sees us - so I will always reply to a wink or message even if I think it's inappropriate - i.e. a 24 yr old messaging me or a 75 year old!! People have feelings and I try to be respectful but what you have mentioned is the same for women - men don't even bother replying also!! Post Reply
