Admin	Will I ever find a husband? Posted : 25 Jun, 2011 01:04 PM I'm 20 years old, and I have wanted to be a wife and mother for years. I've been praying to God to help me find a Christian husband, who I can grow old with, have a family with and to take care of each other. I know deep in my heart, that God wants me to be a foster parent and possibly adopt. I always thought I'd be married with a child by the time I'm 22, but I'm not sure if that's what God has planned. My heart aches everyday because i so badly want to be a wife and mother. I adore children, and it makes me sad and angry that it may never happen :( Post Reply

Posted : 8 Jul, 2011 11:36 AM @OP: Your desires are natural and shared by most women (though probably not at 20) - unfortunately many people in your age bracket are not yet ready to settle down, and most are still living with parents or at uni so a family isn't practical. I think the UK average age for marriage now is about 25 and 27 for having kids, so you may need to wait a few years or consider someone older than your current range allows... I am thinking the question is "are you going to settle for something less than what God prefers you to have"? Dependence on the Lord Jesus Christ, that will help you be Independent, which will help you be Interdependent. Post Reply

It can be hard to be patient and wait on God's perfect timing. It is easy to think that it will never happen, but you need to continue having faith. While quite a few people on here have said that you are too young to be thinking about things like this I completely disagree. Most Christians that I know were engaged by your age. I'm a few years older than you and I can tell you that out of all my Christian friends I'm the only one not married with children or at least engaged. I know that it will happen in God's timing for me as it will for you. Maybe God is using this time to teach you patience, to grow in your relationship with Him, or maybe your future husband needs some more time to find God or grow in his faith also. Post Reply
