Admin	Do long distance relationships really work? Posted : 13 Aug, 2010 06:49 AM I just wondered if there is anything like a long distance relationships. Does it work with christians?. I have heard stories of people being conned on the internet. How sure can we be that all profiles on the dating site are from true christians? I joined another dating site (not CDFF), got to know a guy, communicated for some time, thought i trusted him enough and gave him my facebook address. The kind of messages i got from him just made me wonder what kind of crazy world we are living in. Has anyone else gone through this?. Post Reply

It's like the difference between being in love with somebody and being in love with the idea of being in love with somebody. All you have to go on are their emails when it comes to building trust and an emotional connection. This should go w/o saying but to do so based on that is unwise. If they're putting a lot of time into it, they need to go live their life. It's not fair to them and it's not fair to you. Post Reply

Posted : 13 Aug, 2010 11:56 AM I would say dont get on this site not expecting to a high possibility be in a long distance relationship, but than there needs to be some consideration of how to close the distance, and God's a big God, but go on his lead. I think on a site like this - with people all over the US and even the world - you should seriously consider for yourself whether you will even entertain a long-distance relationship, and be sure to state your preference in your profile. If you dont have that big trust and Love ..well dont do it waste time.. Long Distance not based on Love alone but God takes part. Been to 6 years long distance courtship never met in person not even one time..ended just like that. but the love n emotion we had still in there...untill i met my fiance still in long distance relationship but we enggage already now..and He plans to move with me n get married it depends on your commitment, heart and communication. Posted : 19 Aug, 2010 01:50 AM Gacheeri hi, Yes, long distance relationship works, IF both partners are committed to make it work, with the guidance of the Lord. I know a few couples who ended in marriage though had long distance dating relationships. Keep praying! There is nothing impossible if it is God who brings two people together! Regarding the surety whether ALL the members of this site are real Christians, I'm sure NOT! But I believe there are real Christians on here (or atleast desire to be real). If you go the extra mile to know a person, for example, exchanging emails, chatting on here or on ym, or even video chat, sooner or later you will know if he is a real Christian or not or what his/her real motive is. When you found out that he is far off being a Christian online (just like the fb guy you mentioned) then you should be thankful because you find out what he truly is that early, and so you can decide to stop communicating without leaving so much emotional damage to yourself compared to the damage he can make AFTER meeting him in person. Also, as a real Christian yourself, don't forget to remind that person that his acts/words are unchristian.
