Many especially women have come up with all kinds of excuses for a divorce that isn't scriptural. So every time they have relations with someone other than their first spouse they are committing adultery. Post Reply

I am of the following school: Luke 16:18 “Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery. “Whosoever putteth away his wife and marrieth another committeth adultery; and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery. Matthew 5:32 anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery. whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. That is what the scriptures say. That is my opinion. Post Reply

I sited two texts from scripture and used to popular well accepted translations and said those verses are my opinions. I quoted the Bible. The clear and plainly worded text. It is not my wording. But I do agree with it and it is my opinion. I trust that you agree with these Bible texts as well, and that these are your opinions as well. So I do not understand where the disagreement is. I sited these scripture verses and they are my opinions as well. Somehow, Moonlight has come up with different opinions and other opinions and I do not know her sources, but she thinks she has knowledge of scripture that we do not have and that we misteach on a number of subjects and that we do not teach scripture. It appears she thinks that she rightly understands scripture. That she thinks that she rightly teaches scripture. I have merely responded with scripture and said that is my opinion. Her opinion is that we are off and she is on. My opinion on matters of divorce, that Moonlight is off and scripture is on. Post Reply
