Why are married men on this site?

I have come across several men that are on this site and are still married!! Some claim that they are "separated" but are still married nonetheless.

That is so wrong!

Yep, that's wrong, and I think most people on the forums will agree with you. However, I will say that I'm grateful that CDFF has "Separated" as an option, because otherwise those people would just say that they are "divorced" or "single" and it would be harder to filter them out.

Just because in their mind their marriage is over doesn't actually mean that their marriage actually is over.

I agree, it is absolutely wrong In my opinion not only should Christian married men and woman not be on this site, but also separated men or woman. Separated people should be looking for counseling or ways to reunite if at all possible, or get divorced.

It's very difficult time to be going through, the reality is often not, but hopefully these men and women have joined the site with honorable intentions... brotherly advice, fellowship... the forums and discussions are helpful. Whether here, the market or at your kid's ball game, can God use anyone of us to be a blessing in a hurting person's life?

Yes, shouldn't be on here when separated, but even if they were divorced, that doesn't make it better in most cases.

hmmm...it simply because this site, though claiming to be a dating website, welcome everybody as if this is a social networking site.

why do u think they put married and separated as options? married and separated guys may think they are really welcome but in reality i guess, this site is just trying to protect and help its members.

w/o putting those options wouldn't guarantee that married guys will not join, u know. it's quite smart::applause: it's the reason why i love this site. it may not guarantee no spam or cheating but it somehow helps us in some ways.

in addition, let us be grateful that those men are claiming what they really are, no matter what they believe or what their intention in joining here. at least, it gives us an option to filter them out:glow:

Yep, I was contacted by "separated" men. And I think they should ALL be Banned. Are do not except these men's Profiles on CDFF. They should not be on a dating site unlessl they are single most are here to find companionship.

@ One Sojourner

A married man or married woman should be seeking comfort and brotherly advice as you put it from another source other than looking for companionship on this dating website which could lead to unfaithfulness and ultimately to adultery.

Caligirl, I'm not in contention with the fact that being separated is still married, the bible is clear on this. I failed to write that assuming it was obvious, my only concern would be an individual's intentions for being on this or any other dating site.

IMO, this site has resources in the form of forums and others who post and ask questions and give thoughtful opinions concerning life in a variety of circumstances that we all face in our lives as Christians where one can come to realize that HEY, I'm not alone, we all go through trying times. Having been here a while I can say it has been a blessing and helped me in many ways reading and some participating here.

whether this separated/married group of people should be banned or excluded... it's not my call, take that up with the good people who made it possible for all of us have a place to come and seek what we wish for, be it a mate, a friend, a pen pal or to fellowship.
