It seems to be pretty common now that everyone is always busy doing some kind of activity, whether it is church, work, or recreational.

Which leads me to a questions...how does daily Bible reading fit into your busy life?

This is something that I've been struggling since I started working full-time. Lately, I have been reading God's Word in the morning over breakfast, which may work out very well.

Ladies, I would love to hear how you incorporate reading God's Word into your day!

I'd try to fit it in as often and as much as possible, even if it's only a couple pages or a couple scriptures in the morning with coffee, before everyone is busy.

I have to imagine if you're working too much to read the bible, you're working too much.

I try to either read a few chapters before I go to bed each night, or read during a break at work. It does vary from day to day, and I confess that there are some days that I don't do any Bible reading at all. But I do try to read and study every day, and I take it seriously.

My New Year's resolution was to focus on one verse/passage each month (in addition to regular reading). I wasn't very good about it at first, but seem to be getting in the groove now. So, I read through that month's verse/passage in the morning (fairly soon after getting up) and spend some time prayer. I try to meditate on the verse/passage throughout the day and some days do some journaling about it. My regular Bible reading usually happen in the afternoon or evening. I'm a college student and I'm taking all online classes this quarter, so things are pretty flexible! Right now, I'm reading through the book of Proverbs, so I'm doing one chapter a day. I feel like I'm not reading through the Bible as rapidly as I'd like, but I'm also getting more out of it than in the past when I would speed read through several chapters at a time.

When I was working full time, I really slacked off with both prayer and Bible reading. I had a really long commute, and was gone about 13 hours a day!! I really only read my Bible on the weekends and then once or twice during the week all of those years, and I really regret not having made it more of a priority.

I've spent nights at work when I was still handling the systems.. I didn't even have any energy left with the long commute and there were times that I couldn't even eat! So I plugged the earphones and heard the sermons and the audio Bible. That really helped. And I have Bible application on my phone and usually I read it while I was commuting. And of course, have conversations with God whenever I had "empty mind".

But reading the Bible in the morning is the best time for sure :)

Thanks ladies for your responses! It's encouraging to know that I'm not the only one who is struggling to make God's Word a priority each and every day.

Pixy, I've actually been reading through Proverbs a chapter a day as well! I completely agree; I'm getting more out of reading just one chapter than several at a time. I find myself meditating and incorporating passages into my life more that way.

Jesuslovesme, what a great idea to get the Bible on audiobook! I have a long commute to work as well, so that would be a wonderful solution for me!

Again, I really appreciate your responses! Thanks and God bless!
