Posted : 3 Nov, 2008 05:20 PM As I look at some young ladies picture I wonder what are they thinking? dont they relize that the body is a temple of GOD: for the LORD do not dwell in temples build by hands: why do they think its ok for them to be showing so much on the picture? I do not take from the heathen why would they think I would from one of my fathers child? am I asking too much from someone who should be my sister? Post Reply

Posted : 5 Nov, 2008 10:01 AM well i know when i first started going to church i didn't dress the same as i do now...i know that i have changed who i am but not because of anyone else i changed because of me i did used to show more of myself then others at my church and i was comfortable with it...i was comfortable of who i was...part of me did it because i was trying to prove a point that people judge others to much Post Reply

Posted : 5 Nov, 2008 10:05 AM but that was my reason and others have there own reasons for doing it i would just like to say one thing i dont think that it is the place of people to judge others that is Gods job...so when you see someone dont be to quick to judge them...i am working on that myself...but if God wants something to change in someone He will convict them of it Post Reply

But if I mention something it's just because i'm trying to prevent the person from receiving a likely judgement...if that makes any sense. But I think it all comes down to modesty and why a person is wearing the clothing they are. If they are wanting to show more on purpose for attention I think it's wrong. If it's something they wear for comfort or something like that I think it's fine. To a certain level at least *shrugs* As a guy I don't really have to battle with the line of modesty and indecency. When we welcome Jesus into our hearts, the Spirit comes to live inside of us. It starts to change us from the inside out. I don't know why, but cursing seems to be the first thing He convicts people for. Anyway, we don't know how far along another person is in their walk or how many things the Spirit has already changed. The convicting ministry belongs to the Spirit, not us. But, if we see someone backsliding, that is where we are to step in and point it out. I don't know about you, but if the Holy Spirit had tried to change me all at once, I would have been overwhelmed and given up. Let's let God handle the conversion process, He is well equipped. Posted : 6 Nov, 2008 12:36 AM I must say I do agree with you, I do not tend to surf female profiles but from what I have seen, there is some questionable ones. I guess I agree with the last response. When I first got saved I think I would be embarressed to wear now, I guess after so many years of living in the world, and conforming to the world, it is thought to be normal, and its just like having eggs for breakfast, a normal thing to do....but as you draw closer to the Lord he reveals to you, and then you realize your sin....vanity, pride, all sins, just like murder, ect. We all have our sins, God is faithful to show us when we he knows we are ready to receive, after that if we do not change, after being shown our sin... well that could be bad. I guess I think alot of the reason comes down to insecurity, or whatever. Not that it is ok, maybe the girls doing that just arn't strong in their faith with christ, or perhaps being a christian is like a social club or something. Who can be sure. I agree though our body is the temple of God, and we need to be modest. sorry im being kinda long winded. Post Reply

However, the Bible says we are gods (little 'g'), judges, that is we have worldly laws, both written and unwritten. It is written in the Bible that the body is the Temple of Christ. To dress it in a vulgar fashion or ruin it with tattoos and piercings is to basically put graffiti on HIS Temple. Post Reply
