Valentines day gift (for serious)

I saw the other v-day gift thread and I just thought it might be fun to share serious things. What was the best valentines day gift you ever got, would like to get? Or what was the best gifts you gave or had ideas to give? I have a few ideas but I want to see if this thread takes off before I share so have at it.

My favorite Valentine's day gift was being served breakfast in bed by my 7 year old grand-daughter. :hearts:

My mom when I was little would always get me a small heart-shaped box of candy!! What a great mom!!

Someday, I hope to get a dozen long stem red roses for Valentine's Day!!

Never had one! I've always eschewed the "holiday" as utterly artificial, commercial nonsense. In my late teens, I would very definitely anti-celebrate it. As I grew older, I decided that making a bit deal about not making a big deal about it. . . still gave the day too much attention.

I realize this probably makes me sound like a total Valentine's Day hater. I'm not. It's just another day.

Hey!!! valentines day is not just another day... it's my birthday! hehe

I'm ready to quit birthdays this year and don't tell me i can't please...

The last 5 or so years instead of seeing it as my birthday and getting something, I've gotten a gift for the kids or taken them out for a nice dinner, for me that's much more enjoyable and special...

Alright, I think I'll go ahead and share now. While I've never been in a dating relationship over Valentine's day, the coolest thing I ever got for it was from my mom. She got me a stuffed dog that is dressed up like a boxer with the boxing gloves and boxer shorts with hearts on them. When you pressed one of its feet it would start boxing and sing "Eye of the Tiger."

I've never really given a gift on V-day but I have several cool ideas. I think my favorite stems from being a chemist. I saw a video once where a certain gas could be passed over flower petals and it would oxidize the pigment in them, changing their color. I always thought it would be really cool when the opportunity presents itself to buy some red roses and rig something up to pass this gas over them thus making uniquely tie-dye roses for the (currently hypothetical) significant other.
