Admin	Do opposites really attract? Posted : 22 Dec, 2010 06:35 PM I find that the best couples are the ones where there personality and charcter are opposite. Example... one spouse is quiet and reserved..(usually the husband) and the other spouse is out going and personalible (usually the wife.) I think God matches our strengths and weakneses with our spouses opposite strengths and weakneses so couples fit perfectly together making a stronger bond. Where one spouse is weak in one area the other spouse is stronger. Any opinons? Post Reply

View Profile History	Do opposites really attract? Posted : 22 Dec, 2010 09:16 PM I agree with BC, too much opposite is not an attraction for many and they end up on different pages a lot. I don't want a twin for sure, but similar interests are important for spending your life with someone. My first husband and I did not have a lot of the same interests and we ended up going our own separate ways most of the time. I like people, socializing, walks, the arts, family gatherings, outdoor events that don't need alcohol every time, dancing, board games, holidays, communicating, romantic dinners etc. and lots of things that he did not like or would consider trying. That was a big downfall for our marriage, but I never considered those things at the age of 18. He was a handsome, "bad boy" wild Indian and chemistry was all that mattered at that point~27 years of very rough waters and two marriages/divorces trying to work it out, burned me out. Post Reply

The objective is to do a lot of things together, and if you are very different from each other, then you will tend to go your separate ways. Now, there is a lot to say for complimentary types, that are similar, but not exactly the same. That tends to work out well. Post Reply

Posted : 25 Dec, 2010 09:54 PM oh well... as to my opinion,there no such perfect compatibilty...no perfect relationship..no perfect friend..no perfect person.. Whats im trying to say is that...once the mystery of LOVE comes in our hearts....regardless of what kind of person is...as long as we chose to love that person wholeheartedly...faithfully,then..COMPATIBILITY doesnt matter at all... we tend to look at the physical side of the person..we tend to like the person becoz of the looks? intelligence? possesions?interests??? But on the other way around..what really matters most is someone really love us...accept us...care for u... Sometimes, we find thrills, excitement, curiousity abt the diffrences of the other person..and once u tend to accept it..then u realized that LOVE IS NOT ALL ABOUT COMPATIBILITY..... as the saying goes..."THE HEART HAS ITS REASONS THAT THE MIND CANT COMPREHEND..." oh well...., i loved the idea that someone loves me for what i am not and not for what i am.. Posted : 26 Dec, 2010 03:22 AM Yes, love does matter and it might even overcome some differences, but if you have too many differences, it's gonna be REALLY hard to keep on choosing to love each other year after year. I'm not saying it can't be done...it's been done for centuries with arranged marriages, and even if you marry someone compatible, what's to say that an accident or illness couldn't change the person completely -- marriage is for better or worse. But I think that I won't be attracted enough to someone so different that I would choose to love them in spite of major differences...it would partly be our compatibility that would attract me to someone. Posted : 26 Dec, 2010 08:37 AM It depends on what they are opposites in; for instance take a extrovert and a introvert they are opposites but they live vicariously through each other. Or a morning person and a night person can accept each other and even laugh about it. But opposites in handling money or sexual inclinations is asking for trouble because the other has no desire to live vicariously through the other nor do they consider it a matter. Post Reply
