CHRISTMAS SPECIALS AND CHRISTMAS ALBUMS

Do you ever miss those wonderful Christmas Specials that used to be so prevalent on TV when you were growing up and/or a young adult? I DO!!!! ... I'm talking about the Christmas Specials that starred favorite actors and singers of the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s, such as: BOB HOPE, BING CROSBY, PERRY COMO, ANDY WILLIAMS and THE CARPENTERS!!! :yay::yay::yay::applause::applause::applause:

I wish they would put these treasured Christmas memories out on DVDs to enjoy again each year, don't you? Or rerun some of them every Christmas!!! :hearts::hearts::hearts: What precious Christmas Specials and the events surrounding watching them do you remember and treasure in your hearts and spirits?

And:

What are some of your favorite Christmas albums in your collection of albums that you enjoy listening to the MOST each Christmas?

I have two that I barefoot enjoy replaying the MOST each Christmas:

THE CARPENTERS: A CHRISTMAS PORTRAIT

(which was a companion album to their Christmas Special of the same name)

and THE GLENN MILLER ORCHESTRA:

IN THE CHRISTMAS MOOD

(I've always LOVED the "Glenn Miller Sound" that was part of my Mom and Dad's era and listening with them to this "swing" style music on our old stereos!!! And this Glenn Miller Orchestra Christmas album features BAREFOOT COOL "swing-style" renditiions of all the Christmas classics in arrangements similar to the Glenn Miller Sound Hits, such as "Frosty the Snowman" arranged like "In The Mood" ... if you LOVE the "Glenn Miller Sound" too and can find this album and its sequel: IN THE CHRISTMAS MOOD II, I recommend you buy it ... you won't be disappointed ... it'll truly help put you "In The Christmas Mood"!!! These two that I found a few years ago are on cassette tapes)

Love,

Steve

I got a new album a couple years ago that is amazing. It's called "I'll Be Home for Christmas" by Paul Byrom. Most of the songs on there are traditional favorites, but there are a few "new" ones (or at least, new to me) such as "A Winter's Tale" and "Savior's Day," Those are my absolute favorites on the CD.

Paul Byrom has a sound similar to Frank Sinatra, but smoother...and he's Irish, so there is a hint of an accent there too!

I have several "various artist" christmas cd's I have WOW Christmas Red, WOW Christmas Green, Essential Christmas, X Christmas, and am considering buying the new Happy Christmas that has Heat Miser and Snow Miser as done by TFK and their alter ego FM Static.

I also have a few inidividual's christmas collections.

Point of Grace's - their version of O Holy Night gives me goose bumps

Todd Agnew's - Do You See What I See

Relient K's - Let it Snow Baby, Let it Reindeer

Jaci Velasquez - Christmas

MercyMe - The Christmas Sessions

Then I also have a 4 pack of cd's that are all instrumental christmas classics. One is orcestrated, one is all piano, one is all guitar, and one is all pipe organ

well I think that covers my christmas collection LOL.
