The other day Pixy posted asking what would be on the syllabus for a class that guys teach for women on how to be the perfect wife/girlfriend.

Seems appropriate to do the reverse. So ladies, what would be on the syllabus for the class that the guys take on how to be the perfect boyfriend/husband?

The syllabus would include:

1) How to lower a toilet seat.

2) How to hit the mark or clean up when you miss.

3) Clothes don't put themselves away.

Sorry couldn't resist. If I'd ever been married I'm sure I'd probably have a list, but the key things in the relationship: love, respect, shared interests, and independence are things I hope wouldn't need to be taught in a class, but already inherent. It would be nice, though, if he knew the basics of car repair (at least how to change the oil and talk to the mechanic), general home maintenance (how to swing a hammer without hitting something other than the nail), and some sound financial sense (and used it).

"3) Clothes don't put themselves away."

If you don't like my system, feel free to put them where you want them. Just make sure you tell me first so I can find them later.

@ Twosparrows: Not off MY porch!!!

@Tulip: "How do you know clothes are dirty" and "where does laundry go" were two of the biggest repeated discussions between my parents. Until Mom came out one morning holding a pair of Dad's dirty underwear to her waist and saying, "Hmmm... your mother is coming today. I think she's going to know these aren't mine. They'll be hanging off the back of your chair (where you left them) when you're ready to put them away." They still have consultations about whether the "sniff test" is valid for shirts, but the underwear goes in the hamper regularly.

I would just have the "students" read the books 'Men Are Waffles, Women Are Spaghetti' and 'For Men Only'.

Interesting book suggestion Katie. I've been trying to get my hands on For Women Only for a little while so I can see what secrets they're giving out about us men.
