A follow-up question: What REALLY makes a man or woman "a match" for each other? What are the MOST important things?Posted : 24 Nov, 2010 11:02 AMIt is a sort of case-by-case basis sort of question, so I have to partially agree with both Sparrow and Tulip. What I find splits up a lot of marriages is having difference in opinion on the importance of religion and what it means to be a Christian, or not fully appreciating each other or not holding up one's end of the marriage 'deal'. |

A follow-up question: What REALLY makes a man or woman "a match" for each other? What are the MOST important things?Posted : 24 Nov, 2010 03:01 PMTo my way of thinking, real and lasting love is selfless. You serve the other only out of love, not to get something for yourself or even so that they will love you back. By that way of thinking, the question I would ask myself is "What are the needs she has and what am I able to offer her?" That means I must know myself and get to know her to determine if what I can give are the same things she really needs. She should be asking the same questions. Only if we each feel we are able to serve the other would I call it a match. |

A follow-up question: What REALLY makes a man or woman "a match" for each other? What are the MOST important things?Posted : 24 Nov, 2010 06:21 PMGotta say, I'm still tryin' to figure that out after all these years! One thing I've always wanted and believe that God wants for me is a mate that has God in his heart and is willing to continue to grow in his relationship with the Savior. That's my goal for myself as well...growing a stronger relationship with each passing day. That said, I believe that two people need to be able to relate to each other as well. My understanding of what marriage should be like is that God should be the center and that the man and woman should communicate with each other and God continuously. I don't think it hurts if they have some things in common as well. |
