What song/hymn/chorus has been going through your mind today? What song lyric really touched you lately? Does not have to be Christian music -- just something that really spoke to you.
Well, I don't know that it exactly "touched" me, and it's certainly not a Christian song, but I've had "Lily's Eyes" from the broadway musical "The Secret Garden" running through my head ALL day...probably because I'm accompanying a medley of "Secret Garden" pieces in a Broadway Revue next weekend, and that's my favorite song in the show!
Another song that has been running through my head (yes, we are doing it in the revue as well!) is "When You Believe" from "Prince of Egypt". The lyrics are really inspirational:
Many nights we've prayed
With no proof anyone could hear
In our hearts a hopeful song
We barely understood
Now we are not afraid
Although we know there's much to fear
We were moving mountains long
Before we knew we could
There can be miracles, when you believe
Though hope is frail, it's hard to kill
Who knows what miracles you can achieve
When you believe, somehow you will
You will when you believe
In this time of fear
When prayers so often prove in vain
Hope seems like the summer birds
Too swiftly flown away
Yet now I'm standing here
My heart's so full I can't explain
Seeking faith and speaking words
I never thought I'd say
There can be miracles, when you believe
Though hope is frail, it's hard to kill
Who knows what miracles you can achieve
When you believe, somehow you will
You will when you believe

A-shir-ra la-do-nai ki ga-oh ga-oh (I will sing to the Lord for he has triumphed gloriously)
Mi-cha-mo-cha ba-elim adonai (Who is like You, oh Lord, among the celestial)
Mi-ka-mo-cha ne-dar-ba-ko-desh (Who is like You, majestic in holiness)

"Jesus, lover of my soul, let me to Thy bosom fly. While the nearer waters roll, while the tempest still is high, hide me, O my Savior, hide, till the storm of life is past. Safe into the haven guide, oh, receive my soul at last.
Other refuge have I none. I helpless hang on thee. Leave, oh leave me not alone, support and comfort me.
All my trust on Thee is stayed. All my help from Thee I bring. Cover my defenseless head in the shadow of Thy wing.
Thou, O Christ, art all I want, here more than all that I find. Raise the fallen, cheer the faint, heal the sick, and lead the blind. Just and holy is Thy Name, I am all righteousness. False and full of sin I am, Thou art full of truth and grace.
Plenteous grace with Thee is found, Grace to cover all my sin. Let the healing streams abound, make and keep me pure within. Thou of life the fountain art, oh let me take of Thee. Spring Thou up within my heart for all eternity."
HA the song in my mind is one I heard on TV when my mother called me and told me to turn on dancing with the stars...
Save a horse ride a cowboy..
Amazing grace speaks to me we sang it in church sunday and every time i hear it I am reminded from where I came.. the gifys Jesus gave me and the love he shows me
It's an old Charles Wesley hymn that had the words slightly updated by the music team at Red Mountain Church. I doubt it would be allowed in most Methodist churches these days, but I sure love it!
