What has your faith cost you? Do you think it's cost you more to get where you are now, or do you think more will be required of you as time goes on?

This is an interesting question. It's one that should challenge most American Christians, honestly. Too often we see people say, "Yeah sure I'm a Christian," but honestly, what does it mean for their life? One of the most difficult questions I've been asked is, "What if you found out tomorrow that, without a doubt, there was no God. Would it really affect your daily life at all?" Meaning, how much do I really rely on God every day? Ouch.

Personally, I think it will cost me a lot more in the future. It's costed me quite a bit to get where I am now, but as someone who plans to do short term missions multiple times throughout the rest of my life, I'm assuming it will cost me dearly, especially wanting to go into countries like China and Cambodia to work getting girls out of the sex trade. Right now my faith has costed me some friendships. Okay, big deal. In the future, it's probably going to cost me not having children, and that will most likely hurt. I'm not about to bring a child into this world if I'm involved in a high-risk job. Part of me finds that incredibly selfish. However, if not having kids means running after God's plan, then so be it. If loosing my life is what it takes to follow God's plan, then so be it. Growing up in a small town with great parents and going to high school where I knew every kid was great. Currently attending a very respectable Christian university is also wonderful. Eventually the real world is going to hit. I'm on a cake walk right now. Can't wait to see what in the world is after this. :)

Not nearly as much as if I had no faith. My last marriage because I refused to compromise my faith.

My faith brought me through the untimely deaths of 2 of my sisters, a promotion I should have gotten but didn't (no explanation for it...but I got the promotion later and it worked out for my good), and many other challenges.

I can't imagine how people go through the trials of life without a faith in God.

I find that an interesting question as it is something that I always get comments about... "oh, you have given up so much!" BUT lets look at the positive side as well please and look to see what has been gained as even through the struggles we press into God and get to know him more... and that is more then worth while... even if I can't see it like that in this moment :)

I am missing seeing my brothers and sisters grow up. BUT I live in an incredible country called Russia. I am not understood a lot because of major cultural differences. BUT I am learning a new language and learning a new culture.

I have lost friends and loved ones... but gained new ones.

I can be lonely often... but I have seen people who could not walk, walk! I have seen lives transformed and turned around!

The future... it will cost me more...
