So i have a question about an observation i made about a couple of dating sites i've been on. Ive tried eharmony and found that I've had more success on there than on a free site like this one. So has anyone found that to be true or is it just me?

While this is the only dating site I have tried and am happy with the boy friend I found here, I have to say it probably is much simpler on a site like eHarmony. From what I've seen and heard from others, they organize people pretty well and have a pretty structured process. Here, it is free-for-all, and the people on this site are not only lonely, but also don't have money (hey, we wanted a free site, didn't we?), so the demographic is bigger and there are probably way, way, way more scammers. I think it was luck or fate or something that brought me and my boyfriend together so quickly, because I had a lot of weird/bizarre/scary messages to go through in the short period of time between signing up and for us to become exclusive.

I haven't really tried to use this site for dating, so I guess it's been a failure at pairing me up. My last girlfriend came through Plentyoffish though, which is a free site.

I don't know. Some of the free sites do pretty well at matching you up with other people (OKCupid, for example), but they don't offer the same security that sites like eharmony do. The free sites don't help with any sort of guided communication, and I feel like a lot of people on any of the free sites aren't really that serious about finding a spouse...which is fine, as long as they are up-front about that.

It frustrates me to no end when I'm having a good conversation with someone on a free site, and then the person just quits talking to me. They quit logging on. They basically disappear, but don't actually delete the profile. If they were on a paying site, it seems like they would be more active since they have to pay whether they use it or not! That still wouldn't keep them from dropping the conversation ball, of course.

You know your right about that. That happen to me a few times where you are talking to someone then they just stop talking and responding to you. I wonder why that is
