Posted : 2 Oct, 2010 08:46 AM He has given my heart and spirit this "life verse", which He also gave from the Father, Son and Himself to the Israelites: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord; plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you hope and a future!" (Philippians 29:11 NIV) I live my life in Christ by the knowledge, comfort, encouragement and love God has expressed to me in His promises to me in this "life verse"!!! :yay: Yay, Lord! Barefoot Hooray!!! :yay::applause::applause::applause: Each new day is another day of promise, my heart and spirit secure in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit's loving plans for my life and our intimate, unconditional, tender and passionate love relationship as Creator and created!!! :hearts: Steve Post Reply

There are so many verses and passages that truly speak to my heart. The one that has been on my mind the past couple of weeks is Isaiah 61:1-3: "The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion�to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor. They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations," (NIV). This passage reminds me of what the Lord is doing in my life and the kinds of things that I need to be speaking into the life of others. Coincidentally, this is the passage we talked about at my women's Campus Crusade for Christ meeting on Tuesday! It was great to get some further insight into the passage and talk about it with other women. What was also very cool and has nothing directly to do with this topic is that I saw my friend Tammy on Tuesday. Back when I was in college the first time (right out of high school), I was involved in Campus Crusade and Tammy was my mentor/discipler my freshman year. Since graduating, she hired on with Campus Crusade and then moved back to the area a few years ago. But we'd kind lost touch and hadn't seen each other in over a decade. But, the lady who started the Campus Crusade chapter on the college I'm at now hooked up with Tammy online and Tammy is mentoring her now. So, Tammy was at our meeting on Tuesday and will be there once or twice a month and it was so amazing to see her because Tammy is one of the most awesome people I know!!! And she led the study, which was just so neat because she said that passage had really been on her heart too!!! =) Post Reply

Posted : 2 Oct, 2010 08:12 PM Jeremiah 29:11 -- "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans of hope and a future." I didn't have a life verse until April of this year. Then God kept bringing the phrase "I know the plans I have for you" to my mind, but I couldn't remember where those words were in the Bible. I looked them up, and the rest of the verse really fell into place. It's been a great comfort to me the past few months. I was recently given a pretty picture frame with an oddly-shaped photo opening, so instead of cutting a picture down to size, I typed up the Bible verse and put that in the frame instead. Now it's the first thing I see every morning and the last thing I see at night. Post Reply
