CRY ME A RIVER?

Ladies,

How do you feel about a man who cries? Does that make him more in touch with his feminine side (do we want men to have a feminine side)? Does it make him more masculine? What about when he cries while worshipping in church? Can a man cry to much or too little?

Gents please feel to chime in...

I don't have a problem with men who cry, as long as it's from the heart, not fake, and not over trivial stuff. I've seen men cry when they see their child delivered into the world. Or when they are suffering pain from something hurtful in their life. The loss of a loved one. And yes, even as they worship the Lord. Jesus wept.

I don't know that that means they have a 'feminine side'. I tend to think it's takes some amount of courage for a man to cry in front of others.

I admit I have a very soft place in my heart and when God touches me there I ball into tears. I can be very emotional at times. My heart cries a lot for many reasons. Most women find me being a softy a turn off. It's like women expect us men to be as hard as stone. I say though man was mad in God's image so therefore like God we have hearts too. I have feelings too. It's just not many men are open to let that kind of stuff out.

If a guy cries for the right reasons, it does not make him seem more feminine at all. But it has to be for the right reasons. If he cries out of anger, or if he cries to get attention, I will likely think far less of him for it.

A friend called me the other night, and said "Beth, I think I've cried more in the last two hours than I have in a couple years." He went on to tell me how he had spent the last two hours witnessing to unsaved friends whose marriage was falling apart. He said that he didn't really know why he was being so emotional; he started telling them how God changed his life a few years ago, and just was just overwhelmed by the impact of God's grace. He kinda laughed at himself as he was tearing up just telling me about it. I certainly didn't think it was a sign of weakness.

I don't mind at all when a guy cries for the right reason. I've seen all kinds of men (young, old, tall, short, Pastors, unsaved, saved) cry in church. It can be a beautiful thing.

I like when men arent afraid to show their feelings.

In the presence of the Lord especially because I see they allow God to touch them deep down inside and that's awesome!

Possible wrong reasons:

He dropped his cell phone, the battery popped out and the screen shattered

I beat him at a game of monopoly (hey - it could happen!)

His favorite team lost the playoffs

His boss said something to him that was very unfair and hurt his feelings

Someone cut him off in traffic

He got a paper cut

I appreciate a man who is not ashamed to cry in church, during a sappy movie, or when he is extremely happy or sad about something. If a man tears up and tries to hide his tears, I am uneasy. However, if a man tears up over things that I wouldn't, I'm also uneasy.

Wrong reasons: crying in self-pity, crying because you got your feelings hurt over something small, crying because you are angry, crying because something didn't go your way.

I do not mind if a man cries, even for the wrong reasons because crying is an emotion not a characteristic.

Pain, frustration and even stress can make people cry for the most stupid reasons. In that case it is a sign .... and a very precious and important one.

However, there is crying and whining.... imature men whine.... they confuse their girlfriend, or any friend, with their mother....

Men who think they cannot cry are far more a threat to me.

And honestly.... I think men who shed a tear are so cute...:excited::glow::yay::party::rocknroll::ROFL:

Behind that curtain or wall of being totally prepared for the cruel world and wanting to protect their family, to fight for their country, to defend the honour of their "princess".... there is a crying tear.... (aint that cute??)

Really... I think men who dare cry are the only real men on earth....

And speaking of which.... there is not a crying smiley on this wonderful dating site ..... all smileys are happy, bouncing, drunk, hungry, angry....

such a shame....
