Admin	Should guys give you flowers on a first date? Posted : 4 Aug, 2010 08:52 PM Just curious what the "in" thing is these days. I haven't been in the dating world that much. Is it expected that a guy bring you flowers on a first date, or is that mainly just an old fashion custom? I've heard various opinions. I think it's really sweet and romantic if they do cuz it shows that they set aside time to think of you and are thankful that you said "yes" to going on a date with them, but I don't expect it. If she likes Precious Moments figurines, then that's appropriate. Nothing that inhibits the expression of the relationship that's been nurtured up to that point. But, I would not have a bad impression of a guy if he did not bring me flowers. Gifts aren't my love language, but they are icing on the cake =) Live plants are nice too! That's why coffee makes such a great one. If I really like a girl, by like the third or fourth date, I'll buy her a single rose, but dozens of roses are reserved for big anniversaries, etc. You give gifts to people you care about, not some girl you just met three days ago through a friend. I've done that a couple of times (not a on a first date) and it has kinda freaked the guy out. They were at a total loss as to how to handle getting flowers from me. So it kind of backfired.
