I use them when talking to someone everyday, and I like it - obviously. However, if it is between me and my beau, I want it to be a name that he has selected just for me and has some attachment to a "happening" in our relationship, so that everytime I hear it, it triggers a rememberance of how much he loves me. Older black women call me that as well. My ex for all of our ten years called me 'Pookie', (don't laugh!) which eventually got shortened to 'Pook'. I look forward to being christened a new name and only my future 'boo' knows what that is. Post Reply

I've been called dear and sweetheart and babe and honey -- those are all nice. But I like it best when my one and only (should he ever show up) calls me by my name. Post Reply
