Well, I don't assume that just because someones profile says they don't like something means that I have to not like it to.

Unless you say hunting is highly offensive and you hate the ground that hunters walk on, they probably don't think it's that big of a deal. They would probably, as would I, think while I'm out gettin' my shootin' on, you could stay back on the homestead and chill.

You are going to have to say something like I am not interested at in women who hunt.

Most likely they don't read everything you have wrote. If they saw PETA, then they would have ran the other way. Simply seeing your photos gives an impression as a shoot'em up cowboy. I've never heard of cowboy not hunting. Seems like a paradox.

Some women are not unlike men in regard to the fact that they just like to look at pictures and don't read the profiles. Your profile makes it quite clear that you have a dislike for hunting. They must just see a handsome cowboy and decide to contact you.

may i ask why you like guns? let's say someone has a gun for protection, that doesn't really indicate that they likes guns... but because they need it. if you don't like shooting animals, then what do you do with them?

I thought alot of those animal right's groups are for the free will of an animal, and I see pic of you riding a horse, which a person trains in servant way. So how is that justified, but using animal for meat can't be justified?

Has nothing to do with the topic but....................

I love target shooting. We have a range right down the street. I own hand guns, rifles, and shotguns.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Riding horses is not abuse. mistreating them is. While I don't really care for bits they are nessaceary. I was able to teach Peanut to ride without one though which was great for both of us.

It is ludicrous to believe that someone who actively sets out to kill a healthy animal for fun, trophy or profit really cares about wild animals specifically or nature in general. Photographs of smiling hunters posing with their dead victims hardly reflect the kind of caring that most normal people relate to. Why is it that hunters, as so-called conservationists, are interested only in those animals that are most attractive as trophies, most enjoyable to eat or most challenging to hunt?

hunter selects only the finest specimens to kill. This is in direct contradiction of the role of true predators, who hunt the old, disabled and unwary and in so doing maintain the health of the populations. Predators too old, disabled or incompetent are also preyed on, but not by human hunters who only want healthy specimens in the prime of life. Hunting is wrong because for no good reason it violates the most basic right of any living creature the right to life.

In my dealings with hunters I have found them to be notoriously intolerant of anyone who questions their so-called ethics or who dares to criticise their violent pastime. Anyone who opposes the killing of innocent animals by hunters is labeled a bunny-hugger" unrealistic, impractical, emotional, ignorant even a terrorist if you happen to be an animal rightist.

As far as meat goes, google "factory farms"

Again this has nothing to do with my question (to the ladys here) which is why they would send me a wink. If I see a profile that says she likes hunting, I just move on.

Start a new thread if you want to ask more questions, I will be happy to answer you.

Hunting for the most part has become a sport and no longer a necessity as it once was. Before, the men of villages would go out, and actively seek to find food for the day for the village and as time evolved(and with the plow I might add), hunting has changed from "necessity" to "luxury" in the last few hundred years.

So I don't blame you for not wanting anything to do with hunters. I also understand it sounds contradictory to say you like guns in the same profile, because I like target shooting too. Playing skeet is like, the best sport in my opinion, and while I'm just now getting into the bigger bolt-action rifles they're great to shoot target at from 100-300 yards away :)

I wouldn't mind a woman who shoots a gun, but hunting for sport, I'll admit I'm against as well.

I'm not an animal rights activist, so I can't honestly answer your question about meat. What I can tell you is that I am all for the ethical treatment of animals.

I have two horses that I use to ride and drive and they love it. My horses are in no way slaves to my whims. They are trusted friends and partners. My horses and I have a constant dialogue that runs between us whenever we are together. I know full well that my 2500 pound horse can do whatever he pleases. He choses to "work" for me because he enjoys it. If he didn't want me around him, he could kill me or throw me off. No human could ever ride (or drive) a horse that didn't want to work for them. The horse in the pics on my profile can attest to that. He lived for years under the cruelty of an Amish man who treated him as a slave and commodity. That man was sent to the hospital after cruelly beating Zeus with a 2x4 one too many times and the horse was sent to an auction where a friend of a friend took pity on the "dangerous beast". Forever my horse will bear outer scars and hide the inner ones that his first owner inflicted. And yet, he hurries over to greet me each time I enter his pasture. And time and time again prances off down the road to the trails to spend a lazy afternoon splashing in the creek or exploring the wonders of the woods.

As far as meat goes, what I do eat is humanely raised by friends of my parents. Their philosophy is that they will raise the animals for meat, but the animals will have the best life as possible, short though it may be. They respect animals to the utmost and welcome us visiting any time to check up on them. I have gone once and couldn't eat the animal after meeting it. I'm sure if you check around you or at your church you can find someone who is humane to the animals they raise as meat.

I also enjoy target shooting (Sporter Rifle, Skeet, and Defensive Pistol), but do not hunt to kill animals. I hunt armed only with a camera. I find it best to hang a picture of a beautiful animal rather than kill the animal and keep the carcass.
