Okay I missed another girl by two years.i wish people would stop being so picky with the age limitations.people age physically at different rates according to general health, genetics ect.

Ive seen women in there 50s who look like there 30 and vice-versa...........Oh well

just venting

There is a way around that on here. just switch your age temporarily, so you can cast off the message and switch it back quickly.:rocknroll:

Yes, it happens to the ladies, too, MOG.

I had one guy switch his age around so he could leave me a message. It was shortly after that I changed my settings. Hang in there and keep trying.

Thanks for the comments, good idea loonyk,I might try that.

Rabbit I liked your last post about the profile pics, keep doing stuff like that, you have a good perspective

Now Cmon Dennis, you wouldnt really steal my woman from me now, would you buddy?

Honestly folks,I dont put a lot of hope in on line dating, just too many variables, although im really not wanting to dash anyones hopes,I think its something we should keep an eye on,but not take too seriously.

Most people are not gonna pick up and move away from family,friends,jobs...ect.in hopes that some stranger might be there one and only.So unless you are retired,or have real flexible work schedule, and plenty of extra money to drive or fly hundreds of miles........its gotta be someone very close

I guess I'll be the lone voice of opposition (as always)! :rocknroll:

I know everyone is giving out advice about what women should do and what age they should prefer, but I say people should do and say exactly what they want on their profile.

Out of the mouth of a person, out of the words I read on the profile page is that person's heart. Of course, unless they have been purposely deceptive (and even that is there for a discerning eye).

I want to know the truth about what people really think and they want. When I was actively looking for a mate, I had an age restriction of 40-55. I do not want a young guy. I've got my reasons and whatever they are, they are my right.

If yall change your age in order to by-pass somebody's wishes, you are not honoring their choice and preference. What you are saying is I know you say that you want someone this age but I know better than you and because I've decided I want to talk to you, I am going to be deceptive in order to have a chance. I would not respond to this person or when I was through he would wish I hadn't responded.

For instance, MOG on your profile your say that you don't want anyone overweight. You work out and you want someone who is athletic or naturally small. You apologize in case you have offended anyone, but I think it's awesome and no apology is needed. That's what you want and you said it up front. It doesn't matter why you have come to those conclusions or why you have that preference. Changing your age to talk someone is like me purposely deceiving you into thinking I'm small so that I can talk to you because I believe when you get to know me, you will like me.

I can gauge a person's intelligence, their temperament from the tone of the words, and a number of other things. I don't want anyone (even though I know people do) try to 'put on' or put what they think people will like into their profile. But rather, exactly what and who they are so I can have an accurate idea of who they are and whether they are someone I want to know.

Ive messaged many women anywhere from 10 to 15 years younger than I (not on here of cource), and have had a few who like/d me. Usally its a matter of perception, and other times its a matter of them not being ready for kids and what not. lol it naver fails to amuse me when younger women have their age limit set a few years above theirs'. In a world such as we live in finding a man who is a high degree of Christ likness is hard enough with out setting certain age limits.

Btw mine is set, because most women my age have teenage children, which im not ready for...plus if she is old enough to have adult tweeny daughters i might be more intersted in them.=, but i am not soverighn i never know.

I agree, Rabbit. You never know why people have the restrictions they have. If you are not within someone's preferences, move on.

Just a thought....sometimes a person might be a new friend but due to restrictions cannot message. While I can understand preferences, the restrictions seem so limiting. The analogy that comes to mind is saying to someone at church, "I'm sorry. I cannot speak with you because you are obviously above the age of 90 and of the same gender. I wish to meet someone of the opposite gender and within 5 years of my age and so cannot be bothered to waste time speaking with you".

Yes this is a dating site. But we are also God's children. What a wasted opportunity to fellowship with others of His children. :(

God Bless,

Elisa
