Has a guy ever cooked for you as a date?
Posted : 27 Apr, 2010 12:23 AM

I was talking with one of my female friends recently, and I mentioned that I was going to cook dinner for a girl that night. She then informed me that the closest she had ever come to a guy cooking for her was when she did it together with her last long term boyfriend. Is it really that rare for a guy to cook for a girl?

The last guy I dated cooked for me twice. He invited me to his house for supper and he actually made a home-cooked meal! The first time was meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, and salad. The second time was homemade pizza and salad. Yes, even the pizza crust was made from scratch. Too bad that relationship didn't work out! I'm not a bad cook, and I enjoy cooking, but it would be nice to have a guy who could help with the meal responsibilities from time to time!!!

Yes, I have. I was engaged to a man who was a very good cook, and after we had been dating several months he said he really wanted to cook for me. He had the whole meal ready for me when I came home -- what a treat! And it was super delicious, too. Too bad the engagement didn't work, but it was all in God's plan.

Wow. Nope, never had a guy cook for me. As mentioned...feeling seriously left out. I would even be happy with hot dogs/hamburgers grilled out. Not picky.

Elisa and pixy it's not THAT big of a deal. No need to feel left out.

I am very picky. When I'm hungry I want to eat something good. Waste a meal on bad food? What!!!???

Some guys can't cook gourmet, but can do one or two things well. It's usually just because they are never asked. But they are usually eager to show off their culinary skills.

I've observed that men outshine us in things that are typically considered 'woman's' work when they seek to excel in them.

Arguably, the best cooks, hairdressers and maintenance folk(those who clean) are men!

Man, if only I could find a man who could cook, clean and then do my hair, he could have whatever he wanted from me! :dancingp:

I don't want to "toot" my own horn...but

my Dad was a Chef for 32 years. He would make sauces that I would eat cardboard if his sauce was on it. I "learned" a few things from him. There are few things that make me feel more "manly" than taking over a woman's kitchen and cooking up a Gourmet Dish and serving it and then basking in the "Ummm's" and "Ohhh's" and "Ahhhh's" that follow.

God gave us so many wonderful things to enjoy and be thankful for. I cannot think of a better way to express my Love and Affection then to Serve my LOve! Hmmm! I can Smell that Italian Gravy simmering right now! Garlic Cheese Rolls! Mamma Mia!
