Posted : 26 Apr, 2010 07:49 AM Hey Rabbit, I don't know if I'm considered older, but I feel as though I've been here for about 150 years. :rolleyes: When I was younger, I justed wanted someone cute, muscular(not for looks, it made me feel safe), and nice. As I've gotten older and wiser, I find that older men have more of what I'm looking for. For me, the trick is finding someone who is saved, has character, humble but confident, is not set in his ways (a big one), and who is still teachable (doesn't think they know it all). Also, someone if he is older, treats me with respect as an equal and not like a child. I want mature and wise, not a father figure. So as not to be offensive let me be clear, these are not generalizations, but these are observations from my own experiences. So, I guess to answer the question, it is not as easy to find what i want as I've gotten older. Well, that's wrong. I know the right one will show up when my season comes, it's the discouragement that can come when we think we have found the one and they are not him. I would rather stay single and at peace than to deal with any foolishness. :dancingp: Post Reply

I have made mistakes in the past as we all have and I am not in a rush. I would rather wait on the Lord than compromise. I have compromised in the past and it doesnt work, I just wasnt happy and knew I wasnt in God's will for my life. So here I am :) Post Reply

Like for instance it dosent seem to matter too much for me. I find the more refined I am the more women I can attract, in all areas of the word. :) Post Reply

I see that there are differences in me now with the �want to haves/must haves� things I�d like in my mate. Some of those things I wanted 25 years ago, don�t apply anymore with me since I hurdled the 50�s marker. Now that I�m in a different season, I�ve kinda kicked back and just taking things a little easier and much slower pace than I used to. I used to in younger years, �seek� for a mate, and that was before Christ, however now, since building my relationship with God, He has changed my personal perspective about that �seeking� thing. All I know is I want a man who is mature, has a love for God, and desires, respects and wants me for me. I might not see him (mate) tomorrow, and perhaps that�s the hardest part�. Waiting� But I feel it�ll be well worth the wait if I allow God to be in it and position me for it. In the earlier years, when I was the �seeker� I got more than I bargained for, and a whole lot of un-necessary drama, and that I definitely don�t want now. I think when I was younger I had more going for me on the "outer" but I didnt have much to offer emotionally. I believe that I am well balanced at this point in my life. Posted : 26 Apr, 2010 03:23 PM Well, it takes me more and more time, but if I really sit down, handle my paint and plaster and slip in my high heels (I live on a farm so I usually walk around on boots).... I still turn heads... But men make the mistake to think that I do that for them... to get compliments or to make them court or chase me. In fact, I do it for myself. The few times I am invited to a party I really want to dress and look not only as best as I can but also as different as I can. I guess I am somewhat extreme. At home I walk around like a gypsy, do not mind the dirt and actually wear the old clothes of my "husband". And then when there is a reason to celebrate (wedding, anniversary) I take "the day off" for a complete make-over. It has happened to me that I actually had to identify myself in order to get in... as people did not recognize me. Also I had trouble getting out or back in my farm house as even the dogs seemed confused... I love to have that effect on people (only!!) and I adore surprising people with my looks. I cannot say that I turn into a stunning beauty but the fact that I am showing a total different side of myself... ooooh I love it!! :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL: On top of that, when I look back how I was when I was young and what I am now. I find myself so much more interesting. The woman Harriet has so much more to share than that girl twenty years ago... As I grow older.... I feel more and more woman. My body is not what it has been when I was in my twenties but I do not want it back. I am 46 and I love every minute of it. And as to men.... I am not looking for a relationship. So whether men turn heads or not..... whatever.... I am.... and I am living.... and someday I will turn my head.... As a young lady, my personality exhibited plasticity to a degree that I adapted to the gentleman and whoever/whatever he was/wanted. However, as I've matured so has my personality.
