Dear Mr Right: A message from the Lord

Here is a life changing poem I was introduced to by a freind, I hope it blesses you. Sources will be sited at the bottom.

Everyone longs to give themselves completely to someone

to have a deep soul relationship with another

to be loved thoroughly and exclusively.

But God, to a Christian says:

"No, not until you are satisfied, fulfilled

and content with being loved by Me alone --

with giving yourself totally and unreservedly to me --

with having an intensely personal and unique

relationship with Me alone.

Discovering that only in Me is your satisfaction to be found,

will you be capable of the perfect human

relationship that I have planned for you.

You will never be united with another,

until you are united with Me --

exclusive of anyone or anything else,

exclusive of any other desires or longings.

I want you to stop planning,

stop wishing,

and allow Me to give you the most thrilling plan existing --

one that you cannot imagine.

I want you to have the best.

Please allow Me to bring it to you.

You just keep watching Me, expecting the greatest things --

keep experiencing the satisfaction that I am.

Keep listening and learning the things I tell you.

You just wait.

That's all.

"Don't be anxious.

Don't worry.

Don't look around at the things others

have gotten or that I have given them.

Don't look at the things you think you want.

You just keep looking off and away up to Me,

or you'll miss what I want to show you.

"And then, when you're ready,

I'll surprise you with a love far more

wonderful than any you would dream of.

You see, until you're ready and

until the one I have for you is ready,

until you are both satisfied exclusively with Me

and the life I prepared for you,

you won't be able to experience the love that

exemplifies your relationship with Me,

and this is the perfect love.

"And dear one,

I want you to have this most wonderful love,

I want you to see in the flesh a picture

of your relationship with Me,

and to enjoy materially and concretely

the everlasting union of beauty, perfection, and love

that I offer you with Myself.

Know that I love you utterly.

I am God.

Believe it and be satisfied."

I totally disagree that I have to have a completely fulfilling relationship with Jesus before I can have a relationship with a woman. If this were the case then I'd have to wait until I was in Heaven and then I wouldn't be able to be married. What is with the idea that it's ok that I don't have to be perfect when it comes to God's love for me but I have to have a perfect relationship with Him before I can have a relationship with a woman? It's absurd. I wonder what people are thinking when they write things like this? The whole idea is more humanistic than it is Biblical.

Thunder, beloved of the most High God

I see and hear your points, and you make some good ones, sir. So let's investigate and see if this lines up with the Word of God, or is merley Humanistic

I suppose we can investigate your first point:

"I totally disagree that I have to have a completely fulfilling relationship with Jesus before I can have a relationship with a woman."

The writer of the letter said "No, not until you are satisfied, fulfilled and content with being loved by Me alone --with giving yourself totally and unreservedly to me

Can we be satisfied, content, fulfilled apart from God

Of all the men in the bible Solomon was probably the most lavish. He had everything a perosn could want in this world which is spelled out in Ecclessiates 2:1-11. He said "Anything I wanted I would take. I denied myself no pleasure" but later in the passage he states "it was all so meaningless-like chasing the wind...". In Eccl 2:25 it says "Who cat eat or enjoy anything apart from Him? 26 God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy to those who please him. But if a sinner becomes wealthy, God takes the wealth away and gives it to those who please him. Paul said in his letter to the Philipians "...I have learned to be content with watever I have....For I can do everthing through Christ who gives me strength." Phil 4:11-13

If it is only in Christ we can be content, than no one else will be able to satisfy us like He can. We are made perfect, or complete by being united with Christ wether we are single or married. If we are not, and we seek satisfaction from another we will come up short Roman 3:12 says "...no one is good, not a single one"

Point 2: "What is with the idea that it's ok that I don't have to be perfect when it comes to God's love for me but I have to have a perfect relationship with Him before I can have a relationship with a woman"

We couldn't come into a right relationship without God, nor can we bare fruit of the spirit with out God (Galatians 5:22,23 and John 15:1-17), and it will be through God that I will be able to obey His commandment and love my wife as Christ loves the church (Ephisians 5:25) and if we obey Gods commandments we remain in Gods love.

As for who you CHOOSE to get into a relationship, that's entirley up to you. As for me, I want a wife As described in Proverbs 18:22, 19:14, 12:4 31:10-17 which can all be linked together. I would like to emphasise the phrase "favor from the Lord" Proverbs 18:22. Of cource I would like favor from the Lord, and I found out how. Proverbs 3:3,4 tell me I recieve favor form the Lord, by never letting loyalty and kindness leave me. When I read the footnotes in my bible for verse 3 it says "Loyalty and kindness reflect the intimate and wolehearted commitment of God's covenant relationship with His people". Once again it appears that wife(especialy one described in Proverbs)=favor=relationship with God.

I can go on and on, but its getting late and I am running out of gas, so please friend investigate for yourself. :)

I'm sure the writer meant well, but I think they are off base.

My thoughts when I read this were:

Since when are two people coming together in marriage the "perfect human relationship"??? Hahahahaha Hasn't happened. Ever.

Since when do I have to wait to be perfect in Christ to have a husband? I am a flawed, cracked, leaky vessel. Always being molded and shaped into the person God wants me to be. Always striving, always seeking, always trying. Never will I achieve it in this world. In heaven, yes. I will. But while I am on earth the best I can do.... is the best I can.

And - since when does God ask us to disengage our brain and our imagination and ingenuity and all those things He created in us and gave us? "I want you to stop planning" "You just wait. That's all." Ah, no. I don't think so. God wants us to wait on Him, it is true. But he did not create us to be passive and to not use our minds and our hearts. All within reason, of course. And all within His will for us, of course. But to sit passively by, staring at God and nothing else, or else we'll miss what He has for us? No, I don't think so.

I don't believe what this writer is saying is biblical. Just my opinion.

I'm usually the analytical one but in this case, the poem hit straight to my heart. For me, it was a perfect message.

Thank you for sharing it.

I think this may be where different denominations and different ways of thinking come into play. I, personally, looked at the poem as more of a metaphor. I believe we all know that in order to be blessed by our Lord we need to be confident in our walk with Him. We do not have to have a perfect walk, but that is what we strive for, at least that is what I strive for. I know that I never will be perfect. When we stop trying to control our lives and let God control it we become blessed in many ways. That's what I took from the poem. Stop trying to force a relationship or beg God to send you your future spouse. He knows what we want, and He knows what we need. He will give us what we need when we need it. As far as what we want, it depends on if it is in His plan.

I took it more as I will be so in love with Christ that the woman I should want would be FILLED (or controlled) by Him. For we are all clay pots, all of us, nothing of worth. Only when we are filled with the Holy Spirit, can really enjoy anything, not limited to marriage, and in seeking after Him, we become like Him. How much easier, and how much less grace would you have to give someone if they were filled with the Spirit of God. My glass slipper will only fit my Jesus. :)
