How do you ladies deal with this issue? What do you think it is?

what is stalking?

What do you think a scammer is?

I have never been scammed so I can not answer that question.

However, I would not trust a stranger with my personal life such as savings and such.

I have men emailing me all the time, let's say at least twice a week that I turn in for being a scammer. It's ridiculous!

they usually have 0 for "favorites" because they are only out to scam quickly and they always want you to talk outside of this site. that's a huge red flag! the emails usually start with "hello beautiful or hey baby" I think, uh oh...

then i turn them in and before I know it, they're banned from the site.

What River said.

Seriously, any time someone calls me "Beautiful" or "Baby" in the first email, or if the email seems like a "form email", or if the person gives me off-site contact info and asks for mine, I assume they are a scammer. I may not report them until the second email, just in case they are legit and just very stupid, but if they continue in their scamming ways, I do report them.

As for stalkers, that hasn't happened to me so far. I consider myself lucky.

Ask for discernment with every single contact. No matter what the profile says, no matter what the picture looks like, no matter what they say. Do NOT give up asking for discernment.

A scam --- the one I've faced over and over is the man asks for money. Sometimes with the first contact (those are easy to cut off), sometimes after several emails or chat conversations. A clue I have picked up on is if the man is on a business trip. Red flags go up, girls! Be very cautious -- chances are he will ask for money. I don't know if women do this - my only experience is with men.

A stalker? Someone who is always online when you log in. Someone who is always sending you a message in chat. Or emails. Someone who does not stop even after he has been told repeatedly to stop, that we have nothig in common, that I don't want him to contact me anymore. It is like they can't hear anything you say --- they are so focused on what they want. Ug. If it gets bad -- then you need to either stop using that email address or get a new one. Or change your user name, for instance on a web site like this.

Dennis,

Since you brought it up (I wasn't going to say anything...hoping it would stop), but one of your cats keeps emailing my Beagle! I think he's sweet on her. She tells him it won't work, but he continues to email. She (the Beagle) told him about "stalking", but he (your cat) replied that he does not work in a Grocery Store (stalking -- stocking...get it?).

Anyway, Dennis...if you could have a word with you cat?

Thanks

Steve
