Wait for Marriage

Ladies: I read something recently I found interesting. A woman wrote about a friend of hers who had realized she had been saving her money and waiting to buy a house until she gets married. Her thinking was there were specific firsts that she wanted to "save" to share with her to-be-found-later husband

Years went by and she hadn't gotten married. The woman in the story went ahead and bought that house. And then she went and bought a big set of dishes for herself, and matching glasses. And she also took herself to an exotic, tropical place for vacation.

The question is: what have you waited for - held off for - until you were married? Are you waiting to do something so you can share it with your future husband? Men, you can feel free to chime in too.

Hey Godslamb... well, I'm not a youngin anymore, but I remember in my youth, I did want to to hold off buying a house until I got married. The dream then was hubby and I would do everything together.

Now, I got another house as a divorced single, and my "wait" now is to remain "pure" just for marriage if God would so allow. That's about it. Not much, yet it IS much to me. ~ GraceMae

Thanks Grace!

At one point in my life I waited to get new furniture and dishes. But I don't wait anymore. I may not enjoy things as much (i.e. vacations and missions trips) without a mate, but I don't stop doing them to wait for the man God has.

Hi Godslamb. I have always enjoyed life in the here and now. The future has never been promised to me any further than the current breath that I am taking. Future hubby, which I am not looking for, will have to make plans with me if God puts him in my life. For now, I am trying to live life to the fullest that I know, and I am really having fun at it:)
