Why do woman have this preconceived notion that when the term "BiPolar" is mentioned, Right away they know everything about it and don't want anything to do with the guy ? :yay:

Hmmm... you are asking why some women sterotype or lump all bi-polar men into a category?

Everyone has their own experiences, and base their knowledge on that. Sounds like you have education opportunities open to you, to spread the word about what bi-polar is all about (or not about, as the case may be).

But I would suggest you don't sterotype "all" women as behaving that way.

Well, I have a parent who is bi-polar, AND I have had to unexpectedly (crazy bizarre timing for me!) research and find out what I need to, to be able to deal with the medical implications of this illness on their livelihood and those that have to care for them too. (ME)

Randy, whatever you have to share, "SHARE" it. I know I spent alot of time researching this, so that in order for me to live my life as God's will, I must also be here to support, understand, and help my parent in love. I read an article last month about Glenn Close I believe and her before and after thoughts about bi-polarism being her sister has the iillness too. It helped me have a better understanding just in general.

My Mom is bi-polar. Medication she has been on for over 40 years. I didn't understand it until she moved to my state and city a few years ago, and I was "forced" to deal with the realization of what the illlness encompassed and how it can and did affect the liives of those who love them, her.

I think the whole thing with much of the "Mind" illness defined today is really about broken hearts, and a lack of realization, a real inner feeling of assurance that God really loves us. When we have insecurities of love, and mental illness besets us, and in some cases, shock therapy and all that happens, that messes with the body, and it changes the physical makeup and ability to focus normally. I still think that God has the GREATER power iin it all though!

Randy, most people don't know anything about the term "bi-polar" other than the jokes that are kicked around unintentionally offending. I've learned alot about the illness, and that's what it is, an illness. Nothing that should keep a woman or man from loving or being engaged in relationship with someone who has been diagnosed with it.

Thanks you guys for the post exchange,

GraceMae

I dont know why because most of the population is going down hill when it comes to understanding it all anyways. We forget to put compasion in action and then listening. I think that people can put alot of disrespect in place when they choose to put it where they think it belongs. I try to be the good person that Christ died doing so, just keep your hope in Christ then he will help you see the understanding that passes all understanding, Remember dont let your love wax cold...just becasue others seem to forget how to remember to love oithers as themselves...God's blessing Love is what we all need in our hearts and minds.GivenLife
