Is it me??Posted : 29 Dec, 2009 09:12 AMHey ladies, I'm 25 years old and I have yet to be in any serious relationship. Most of the women that I grew up around and knew in school and even outside of school all had said that I'd make a good husband, a good father, that I'm funny, that I'm generous and caring. Yet when it comes down to it they all say that they see me as a "brother". I'm told that women are not set on the physical aspect of a man, but being that I'm supposedly a "great" guy, is it the issue of my weight (I aprox. weight 330lbs) that is keeping them from wanting more than just a sister/brother relationship? Please give me some advice or words of encouragement. Thanks! |

Is it me??Posted : 29 Dec, 2009 12:18 PMNo, I don't think it's you. I'm in the same boat myself. Everyone tells me that there's nothing wrong with me, but I am also overweight and I've never been in a serious relationship. Although there have been plenty of guys I've been interested in, none of them were interested in me. Well, I've decided to do something about it so at least I'll never have to wonder any more if guys are overlooking me because of my weight. I've decided to finally submit this area of my life to God and take care of myself. I've already lost some weight and am on my way to achieving my goal, but I still have a long ways to go. I encourage you to do the same - one day at a time. In the meantime, remember you are a child of God and your self-worth comes from Him, not others. If I lived close to you, I'd give you a chance :glow:. I pray that God will introduce you to a lovely lady who lives close to you. |

Is it me??Posted : 29 Dec, 2009 12:39 PMI have thought about loosing weight for the same reason that you've mentioned. However, I'm comfortable with my weight and it only gets to me when I stop and think about it...I'm a very active person, I love playing sports and doing things outside, so its not like my weight defines me...you know? I think that some girls just see the weight and assume that I'm a stay in the house, do nothing kind of guy and that's not true. But maybe that's not it cause like I said before, women that know me still are not willing to give me "a chance". |
