All women.....How do you handle lust?Posted : 14 Dec, 2009 07:05 PMI asked the guys, so to you I pose the same question. Single or married, lust always lurks around the corner. You can't pretend it doesn't exist in the form of that handsome guy that just passed your path while out running errands, or at the gym while showing off his toned body. How do you initially respond? Look once, and praise God for His beautiful creations? Look twice, and pray for grace, guidance, and forgiveness? Keep looking and deal with the consequences of guilt later? I'm not looking for a textbook answer. I know what the bible says about this. But your honest reaction to this hypothetical circumstance would be appreciated. Thanks to all who participate! |

All women.....How do you handle lust?Posted : 14 Dec, 2009 09:34 PMWhen I first began my spiritual walk of trying to tone down the flesh from how I used to be, yes it was hard. Real hard. |

All women.....How do you handle lust?Posted : 15 Dec, 2009 05:33 AMI just thank God for his creation and then am careful to only look at his face when we're speaking (and not to stare). Admiring a person's looks is not lust at all, but it can easily lead to lust if you choose to dwell on the thought. We shouldn't feel guilty for noticing someone, but we should certainly feel guilty if we start "dreaming" about that person or constantly looking at them. It's a hard line to define, but I think you cross the line from appreciation to lust when you start using that person to make yourself feel good. If you keep looking at them because it gives you a "good" feeling, then that's definitely lust because you're using them for your own gratification. But if you just happen to notice that a person is good-looking and attractive and you don't dwell on it, then there's nothing wrong with that - just be thankful to God for creating that person. |

All women.....How do you handle lust?Posted : 15 Dec, 2009 06:11 AMI agree, obsession, or anything that occupies your time or thinking that you wouldn't be doing if someone was watching is not something God sent. |

All women.....How do you handle lust?Posted : 15 Dec, 2009 05:01 PMSee, lust for me isn't always a turn on from the perfect looking guy, but a mans ways may spurn something in me too that could have me thinking "what if", "should I do that" - which is sorta a lust for me too--yall know what I mean women. That means I'm allowing my mind to wander on things and dream, vision, create stuff in my mind all the possibilities just a look and thought can do. |

All women.....How do you handle lust?Posted : 15 Dec, 2009 08:11 PMi just dont think women are wired the same as men. I have heard pastors share the value to have "men" retreat to discuss the lust factor and the challenges of seeing sexually attractive women. |
