Ladies: what is the opposite of emasulation? Apparently this is the new buzz word and to me gives "affected" men an excuse as to why they are not fulfilling their perceived roles... sounds like another form of blaming eve. Bottom line is most choices are one's own. Not trying is a choice.

You are absolutely right!! A person that recognizes there is a problem and doesn't do anything to remedy it, but blames it on someone or something else might need to do some soul searching.

But to answer your question..to me, the opposite of an emasculated man would be a masculine one. To me, a masculine man is a man of God and will stand firm in his beliefs no matter the situation (not wishy-washy), he knows his responsibilities and isn't afraid to take care of them, he knows how to lead and how to communicate effectively...wait, I think I just described my dream man, or at least some of the basics!! Haha!

Just my two cents,

T

Dear T

i was wondering what is the opposite of emascuated man in reference to a woman.... is that something where we loose our identity as a female... definitely wondering... and kinda funny if females don't seem to have a buzz word to something that is happening to us (that we can blame society). How about where we have to be the major breadwinner and maker? and can't choose to be full-time mothers and homemakers? Hey, there just may be a book deal out of this subject.

A few years ago it was determined that girls were behind in math scores and one reason is the gender does better in learning in group settings. So they did a study to change the learning atmosphere, and the girls started to score well and higher than boys in math. Guess what the response was? wow, what about the boys? we need to change the learning environment so boys improve. (AKA: higher scores needed for boys) Appears the issue for women started in elementary school.
