However, for friendship and short-term compainship i would date and have non-Christians. My ex-husband was casual with his beliefs, and with that it is easy to be casual with the importance of relationships, vows, etc. Men are not the only one with strong sexual desires. AND there are men with very low ones. So we all struggle and cave. There will be many who will contribute to your question who are very well versed with what the bible says on this issue and have excellent advice, my contributions are from my person reflection. It takes "sex" out of the equation so you can actually think with your head and feel with your heart vs. other parts. And besides you would be surprised at how many who are not in it for the right reasons run when they here you confess you are celibate. I have dated someone who was unsaved in the past (many many many years ago) rationalizing by dating them I could show the love of Christ to them and get them saved but the sad truth is (as alot have found out) it usually is the opposite and you are catching yourself either fixing to stumble or have just realized you fallen.
