Ok Folkses,,It is now July,,,,Where are we on our New Years Resolutions??

Mine has fallen by the wayside. I really don't want to say what is was, but, well, let's just say I'd like to change my profile from a "few extra pounds" to "athletic"..lol

The weight loss industry gets a whole bunch of our hard earned dollars every year,, So lets get back on the ol treadmill, new diet, or whatever we promised ourselves back in January. Only this time let's pray and ask The Good Lord to help us reach our goals.

Think and speak positively not negatively.

Can I get an Amen????

God Bless, Sandy

Mine was to forgive people in my past for hurts I have carried things and to forgive myself.. I have gone a LONG way towards that. I have forgiven others and am working on myself.

I have to say I didn't set any resolutions.

Yea, just set your mind to it and pray and go for it.

You dont need any fancy programs to lose weight! Its about 80% diet and 20% exercise, fruits vegetables, lean meats, and whole grains are all you should eat!If you force yourself to eat this way for a little while, eventually you will not want the other stuff, also overall reduction in calories.Think of your i deal weight(say 145)then eat no more than 1450 calories a day.Increase your physical activity,a little bit at a time, this too will become a lifestyle, In Christ Steven

i agree with Stephen, but with more exercise for women entering after life (ya gals know what i mean!). i've lost almost 50 pounds... and its true about forcing self not to eat an item and you gradually lost appetite for.. that was for chocolate... after three days i quit craving... although if i eat it, i go through the same thing. I also saw the movie Super size me.. and could relate to that guy, even though i wasn't eating alot, the fast food was a craving with the same high effects. I also started weight lifting as the body continues to burn calories vs cardio. My doctor advised i should start jogging compare to my walking to do the cardio. Well, i ruined my knee and damaged it when i moved (six days of packing, moving and unpacking, mostly by self) so i've not able to do the my routine. So i already know i am going to struggle getting back. Protect and weigh advice... so here are some of my tips.

To be successful, you have to obsessive (very irritating for those around who do not want to think about what they are eating) of what you eat. I have some overweight women friends and i let them in on a secret, it is very hard. Much harder than men. We have so much going against us. So first make sure you don't have any health issues, i had sleep apnea, that makes you gain wt, causing greater apnea, to gain even more wt. i hadn't dreamt in over three years. Also, you have to be selfish. TAKE the time to exercise, give up duties, home cooking, errands/tasks for others, etc. even some hobbies. Hopefully those around you will be supportive and help out. Also, try to figure out the negative influences to either get rid of or minimize... in my case it was a job.
