Scams/Marriage frauds on this site -

Hello friends & fellow members ,

I seem to come across an awful load of frauds !!! In fact , there are more scammers than decent honest well-intentioned members here . The bad are causing the good to deport /abandon it . The only men that contact me,( or even seem to be active on here) , are scams . Mainly they are men claiming to reside in the U.S. , but are foreign origins . There are many red flags , and it soon becomes obvious to me that they are ''marriage'' shopping quickly for citizenship . An I am sure all a woman is worth $$$ as well . I have even been convinced that in at least one of the cases , the guy likely had a wife already in his homeland . His phone # exchange was here in America , but that actually doesn't prove he is really living here currently and more importantly what his motives are for pursuing a marriage so fast . Sometimes they have expressed to me a preference for white women and maybe they do like that , but still have the evil agenda . Perhaps that is part of the hidden plan , lure us by flattery . These are the only men that hover over this site , I am discovering . I think I have been sought out because I am in my 30's & seeking marriage , although they might view me as ''old & desperate'' . Not the case , I am strong , smart , and single by choice . This site is over-run with scammers and I wanted to know what other women thought ??? I noticed there aren't any current posts regarding this serious issue when it's saturated the site . Are people pretending this is still a respectable site ? What else is disturbing is that I report such filth but nothing is ever done about these men and they just remain on here being allowed to potentially victimise more weaker & vulnerable people .Lonely members with hopes for love & acceptance . I did see other members be removed before , but never ones that I report personally . The impression I am getting is that I am being ignored , and /or if there is monitoring they rarely boot criminals . Very troubling indeed !!! I am going to leave this site for good . I just felt to post a final message to see if any other women respond and what they think ? Have any of you experienced the same with predators bothering you , scammers messaging you ??? Like I said , I hear from ones that seem to be after citizenship through marriage , trying to use an American for that purpose to their needs . I have never out-right been asked for money because they are more clever than that . Although I realize that is a part of the scam , they are entitled to your assets if you are foolish enough to marry without any pre-cautions . My warning to people & esp. more vulnerable ,lonely members & women , be VERY picky in whom you interact with on this site !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Try and keep it local if that is possible . I only deal with Americans now , and even they can be users & jerks so the narrowing down continues . Not many locally and unfortunately this site is World-wide opening too many doors in my opinion.I did have a lovely pen-pal from Sweden here , who is a doll . He was nothing but kind & my friend , truly . He is the only foreign person however , that was ever trustworthy and genuine , sincere towards me . Happy I came across him here , even though a relationship is not possible . The scam men have come from Iran , Eastern Europe such as Albania , at least this is what I encountered .Yet they reside here in the U.S. , (some of them do). I am guessing their visa expired , they are over-staying , not in a good position and afraid of being deported . They won't waste any second of their time on you , if you give them reason to think you are not marriage serious because they are on a mission and must hurry that up so they tend to rush you. I had this mistreatemtn done to me but being a suspicious person in my nature , stopped it before it could even begin .Scammers I would think typically come from the poorer regions of the World . Ladies , thoughts /opinions /experiences???

Thank you for your time .I'd be happy to listen to anyone else's story !!!

May God's Grace Be Upon Us Always ~

Amen ...

Its not just male scammers here. There are female ones, too.

As for his phone number being from the US. Not always the case. VOIP (Voice Over IP) and a program that alters your real IP address is all it takes. Scammers were one of the reasons I stopped actually looking for a wife online. Alot of us here are only here for the forums.

there are many scammers here, and the administrators are slow in reviewing reports.

i think because the site is free and can log in with any address they feel like.

its hard to find true love here.

Yes, there are many scammers. But you can do something about it! Whenever you come across someone that you suspect is a fake person, click on the red button that says, "Report This Person For Review." You will see this button in your Inbox when you click on a message. When you click this button, the person's account immediately gets suspended. They won't know who reported them. And in most cases if they really did or wrote something shady, their account will get deleted! I always do this with anyone that I suspect is a fake. By doing this, I not only help the website but I help others too, because the same person won't come back.

Note, the staff here at CDFF can review messages that we write, but email exchanges cannot be reviewed, so this is why fake people prefer email. If someone says in his second message, "Let's continue our conversation in email," that's a red flag. There are many other ways to tell who is fake and who isn't, and I am not going to go into this now. But we all need to be very careful and we should report messages that are suspicious, because it helps others.

There are thousands of accounts and hundreds of new accounts created, and probably millions of messages get sent every week. The administrators of this site don't have the time to read every profile and review every message that is sent. And unless we report fake people, they will never get caught! So, I encourage everyone here, please report suspicious messages! The staff won't know they are here unless we report them. So, don't let them get away!

Let's not kid ourselves , this site is OVER-RUN . Everyone I reported who was a scammer , even serious in some cases , is still active up & running here . While I have noticed one or two others that were removed , very minimal amount and not ones I reported personally. I am not on a site to do others dirty work & reporting . When it's to a point most are scams . I am not here to worry about letting them get away as you state . I am here for honest & normal correspondence at the very least . An of course I know how to report someone , I got into a very prestigious college so clicking a report button is something I certainly know how to do . Do I care to waste all of my time doing that though ??? Is the the purpose of being here ? I didn't join a site just to catch the bad guys that have taken it over !!!!!!!!!! That's not my job , thank you .

Yeah I know about quite a few girls on this site currently that I have reported that are still here. The fact these people can sign up for a free account is probably why they choose this one. However I also ran into one on Christian Mingle so believe me it's not the only place. The most important thing is of course 'caveat emptor' or 'let the buyer beware' so it's up to us as users to know how to spot them. Also my advice on communicating via email or a method outside this site is, if they ask you for yours, say you've had bad experiences doing that and why don't they give you theirs. That alone has put a halt to several girls from uadreams.com (which that whole site is a scam guys) getting my email.

Oh one more thing. Someone who is not a citizen of this country and looking for someone who is to marry isn't a scammer. They are shady yes and I wouldn't recommend getting into a relationship with them because of their motives but not a scam. A real scam involves someone from Nigeria or anywhere else asking you for money. Hopefully you girls aren't getting messages like those.

One who is trying to marry under the pretense of false ''love'' , yet who's true motive & agenda is citizenship , is indeed a SCAMMER !!! There are many different methods to scam people , it is not limited to Nigeria & money transfers . Many foreigners use Americans just for the sole purpose of obtaining citizenship & also to sue for much of what that American spouse is worth once the few years are up and they get their papers so they are ''official'' and don't need the American anymore !!! This happens a whole lot to very vulnerable , lonely , and naive Americans . You obviously want to pretend or ignore that this scam takes place and the foreigners are absolutely despicable !!! It is all a very cold & calculating plot and often times the foreign person is already married in their country of origin and the spouse there may even be aware and in on it . That foreigner waits until they are approved which takes several years if I'm not mistaken . The foreigner also even has the audacity to file for divorce right afterwards , and sue for whatever that American worked hard their whole life for to earn , a house and bank account . This is common knowledge and the fact that you aren't admitting to this and refusing to call it for what it is , A CRIMINAL SCAM , tells me you must be foreign yourself . That is the only reason I can see somebody acting as though marriage can't possibly be a scam and it's ''only the Nigerians who are scams''. I'll have no part of it . From my experiences foreigners can not be trusted and it's hard enough . Give me American men please !!! At least being involved with them removes that much suspicion . An like I said , it's difficult enough as it is that you don't need added stress & worry that the one you love is up to no good !!! Foreigners lead dual lives and have zero loyalty and only self-interests .

Its unfortunate but true that one bad apple spoils the barrel. Most foreigners (non Americans) on here are actually looking for someone to love. But the scammers ruin it everyone.

Its also true that there are American scammers too. They marry someone, drain their bank accounts, run up enormous debts, then run. Ever watched "Dateline NBC"? Theyve had several stories on this. One guy would use money he stole from his current "wife" to find his next victim. He would shower his next victim with gifts paid for with money stolen from his current victim. He did this for more than 10 years and hurt at least a dozen women.

You have to be really, really careful when dating, online or in the real world.

"Foreigners lead dual lives and have zero loyalty and only self-interests"

I would not say that since I was a foreigner in the past at one point. I moved to the USA when I was 16. Was I a scammer when I was living in Europe? Of course not! Lol So, I would not be quick to judge them all. But if you want to, it's up to you. If you click on Account Settings, you can click on "Block users outside of United States" which will take care of that for you. Foreigners will not be able to message you. You can do that if you want to. Again, you can tell me that someone with a college degree can figure that out for herself, and I understand... I am not assuming that you are a dumb person. I am just trying to help.

I think, this website would run a lot better if all first messages were moderated by the members. In other words, the moment I send you a message, it would appear in your Other folder, and would not get a notification for that. My message would also appear here on a public message board where other members would be able to read it and vote up or down on it. If my message gets up votes, it would then go into your Inbox folder, and you would get a notification that someone sent you an email. That's how it should work. This way most stupid letters would get filtered out, and it would be kind of cool to see what others are writing. :)

I imagine the system working like Yahoo Answers where members get reward points for answering each other's questions. Here it could be done the same way. People would be able to get privileges and points by helping to moderate emails that other members write.
