If ladies, prior to giving your life to The Lord, you were engaged to be married to a non-believer, what would you do or how would you handle this sensitive situation?

hmm... First of all pray about it and keep praying for God to guide you. Sometimes theres an easy answer like leave him or stay. But other times He gives us hints here and there to let us know if it will really work out. Some guys wont be able to handle the fact that you now have someone else you love more than them. With those guys its almost a guarantee its not going to work out. Plus if your a new Christian your not strong enough to deal with someone like that, your not well rooted in the Lord (that one is hard to explain). But there are other guys that will respect you and try to just to your new way of life, because they love you. I think with those you hold on to. You never know, you through your actions you could lead them to the Lord. Ultimately God will show you what do to. Because He wants the best for you.

My sister,

I will take it the same way I would take it if I got married and later accept Christ and my husband has not.

I would not tell you to leave him,if you thought he was good for you in the beginning go ahead and live with him and don't try to force him to be what you are.Let him see the Christ in you,and one day he will follow you.Don't behave like you are better than him(which you are not anyway).Just be the wife to him and let him be the husband.

The same way you came to Christ after so long, the same way his time will come.

Think about having kids who are grown up and have not accepted Christ...you don't through them away,do you?

You continue praying for them every day that God may have mercy on them the same way He had mercy on you.

So I feel if you are good for each other go ahead and marry.Carry yourself as a born again(not a saint or holy one) and you will draw him to Christ too.

Even our brothers and sisters(in the body) who are not born again we love them very much, the same way you will love him.

We ahve all fallen short of the glory of God and we are saved by His Grace.

And Christ came for those who are in the dark not those who are in the light.

God bless you.

Spookygrey.......my sentiments exactly! After seeking God's direction, hopeful that He'll let me see a little of this gentlemen's heart and if it's revealed that he is going to accept this "true one and only, new love" in my life.....well he's one that would be a "keeper", no doubt(smile)lol!!!!

Which Lukia, leads right into commenting on your response! To be honest my sister, the only way I would consider going thru with marrying this man is if The Lord tells me "yes", which would guarantee me that Christ is working on his heart, preparing it to eventually accept Him! So bottom line, it ALL depends on The Lord and your personal relationship with Him! Thank you my sister's in Christ for your heartfelt insights! Be blessed.
